I have a drill I use for my pitching that involves using my alignment stick as an extension of the club (against my left side).

Am I allowed to get my stick out during a comp and do this drill before I hit the shot?

Well given that a pro got DQd a couple years ago for a similar thing I'm obviously not the only one.

was that on the LPGA? I think one of them had a doughnut weight thing on a club head while waiting for something. Maybe a play off?

I'm aware of two situations where players were DQ for using a training aid during their stipulated round - Julie Inkster for using a weighted donut for practice swings and Jeff Overton for using a putting alignment aid while delayed by groups ahead.

Note that a playoff in stroke play is a new stipulated round, so training aids can be used after completion of their final round and before that new stipulated round begins.
