Albatross

Thought your ultimate golf dream would be a hole in one on a par 5. It has been done.

Without google does anyone know what one better than an albatross is? (not the American version)

No but I'm intrigued!

Aye it's a bird, and you'd expect the ball to need a flight comparable to its namesake to reach a par five....

***cant take the glory on this as much as I knew it once I was told. It was actually the mrs, who likes golf about as much as I do tv soaps that plucked it from the air. Lord only knows where she's heard it before!

No not the song !

Joost Luiten scored one today. Anyone had one, if so do you rate it higher than a hole in one, I havn't had one but suspect I would rank it higher in my little golfing book of personal achievements (a thin tome).
I've had two albatrosses, both 2's on shortish par-5 holes, and one hole-in-one. I would rate the albatrosses more highly, because they are 3 under par, but a hole-in-one on a par-3 is only 2 under par.

I thought they called that a Condor. Not sure if that is the official name but think I've heard it a couple of times.
