Now being in my late 20's I have no need of a trolley, but my father is in his mid 50's and I'm thinking of getting him a trolley, given that his course if fairly hilly.

I'm not looking to buy an electric one but do you have any advice on what I should get him? Are three wheels better than 2? How small can these fold up?

In the 'sort of words' of Napoleon (the pig in animal farm, that is not the little dictator chappie), three wheels good, two wheels bad. A 3 wheel push trolley is great, lots available generally they fold up quickly and surprisingly compactly.

Clicgear, Motocaddy, powacaddy are all good.

some of them fold quite small others have removal wheels to save space as with most things the budget you are looking at will kind of make your choice more refined.
