Hi all,

this is my first time on here. I have a quick question about some ping clubs I got from eBay. I got them from an online golf supplier. When they turned up I had a few suspicions. I rang up ping and got them to confirm they were legit clubs by the serial numbers. I did notice a few differences between the 5 and 7 iron to the rest of the clubs. The serial numbers on both the 5 and 7 are a different font and look faded in comparison to the others. The top of the club on the 5 and 7 iron are also in gloss black whilst the others are white.

is all this anything to be concerned about? Could they be fakes? Surely they should all look the same?

thanks

I can only speak from my owning of Ping clubs, and that is like my i20 rions, the serial number font shape, sizing and spacing all matches.

Serial numbers are not a reliable test, as they can be copied from legit irons. You my find there are dozens of fakes with the same serial number, though. Which online supplier was it?

Send the pictures to Ping UK.

They are from 2nd shot golf, a 2nd hand seller of golf clubs on eBay.

i spoke to ping UK when I received the clubs and they did confirm that the serial number provided matched the clubs. Although they said it went from 4-w and I only have 5-w.

i will send the photos over to ping to see what they think.

thanks
