Hi all, i have a cheap Ben Sayers driver that has seen better days and have decided to try something different, do you have any recommendations on what i should look out for that will come in around the £50 mark 2nd hand.

Also without starting a 2nd thread does anyone have any knowledge of the Adams Super S driver and fairway woods as direct golf have a deal on £119 for 2.

Cheers all.

Personallt if you can get any of the Ping G series then they are really forgiving. Not sure what's about for that sort of money though. Having looked at Golfbidder (a tad pricey) they have G15 starting at £75 if you can stretch the budget a little

Should be able to get yourself a nice G10 or G15 Driver for that money on the flea bay. G20 if you're lucky

G10, 15 or 20 on eBay is a good start!

Hard to go wrong with ping at any level TBH.

Hard to go wrong and if you can get to their HQ get fitted! I recommended it to my sisters BF when he took up the game, I hope he goes!

Jonty, I have both the Super S Speedline driver and the matching 3 Wood that live in the shed, purely as I started playing a different shaft.

They're regular shafts. If of interest to you, pm me. I can let you have them much cheaper than DG.

get a 10.5 degree driver with as large a sweet spot as possible, theres plenty of options available, I'm sure any of them will be an improvement on your current driver.

Would be good to try out a few if you can, but if you're happy to buy off eBay without trying I'd suggest one of the MD Superstrong range. A quick look on ebay and you can get a new ST2 for less than you are looking at paying, I play this and am very happy with it. You could even get the updated models including an adjustable Superfit for around the sort of money you're looking at.

A google search will get you to some reviews of these clubs.

Take look at the driver test thread (sticky) at the top of the page, maybe.

They're sure to be some of the budget range drivers which can be great.

The pros at my place love the Benross Boom Boom driver and that's pretty cheap new.

I used to use a Titleist 983K a while ago, I popped into a shop the other day and there was one sitting nicely in the used section for £30. I immediately asked if I could belt a few with it out back. The guy agreed and then we both realised that it wasn't the club for me. It never was, hence why I was so rubbish with it. I picked up a Cleveland Classic for £60 because I was more consistent with it. Honestly just forget about the idea of what you want in your bag, and try things out. You might surprise yourself.

Taylormade have got some good offerings for that sort of money. I think the Superfast 2.0 was a great driver. I have seen Jetspeed knocking around like new in that price range. it is possible to find the R11s also if your lucky, I had that driver and really liked.

The only problem with PING G series they have a good residual price and people are willing to pay top dollar second hand for them. At the £50 I can't imagine they will be in a very good condition if you find any.
