Having an iPhone I regularly find myself surfing the net and filling in time logging onto facebook etc, but since finding this Golf Monthly forum I have become addicted to pressing the GM Forum icon saved on the homescreen on the phone.

Does anyone else find that there becoming addicted and possibly obsessed or is it just me.

(even on my round whilst sat on the par 3 bench waiting for the group infront to finish I logged on... I've got a problem)

I think you need professional help. When you are playing golf leave your mobile in the car FFS, and concentrate on your golf. If I had my way, mobiles would be banned on the course save for heart specialists and the like. Should be an automatic 2 comp ban, a public flogging and a spell in the stocks!! :D

There are a couple of young lads in our A team who are always texting whilst in between shots. I told them that if I'm in the same group as them and they start doing it I will launch their precious little phone into the field with my 5 iron!!

Get off the f***ing phone for a couple of hours and play golf FFS.

First thing I do when I arrive to the course it put the mobile in the glove comparment and that's where it stays till I'm leaving.

I'm not so important that I can't be contacted for a few hours. Just wish everyone else though the same!!!

Ah, at last, a kindred spirit. :)

I do carry my phone but it stays on silent in the bag and I don't look at it until after the round.
It was only the fact that they'd only just tee'd off on the par 3 when we got there and my mate wandered to the nearest bush 30m away for a quick leek.
I agree that phones should be on silent throughout the round as it's a social thing as well as the golfing thing. As for iPods being listened to... I'd of nudged him into the water on the course as we were walking round. That's just plain ignorant listening to an iPod whilst playing golf.

I carry my phone about with me during rounds but it stays on silent. If im waiting about ill go on facebook or send a few texts but i only do this during practice rounds as i lose concentration easily if i use my phone. The people i play with are always on their phones but it doesnt bother me.

I will occasionally carry my work phone if I am on call, however, only on a practice round and even then, if I am on call, I will only go on the 9 hole course. If I have a comp when I am on call, I will get someone to cover for me at work until I am off the course.

I'm not addicted to the site... it's just that I daren't leave it any more than a few hours between visits because there'll be hundreds of posts to catch up on if I do!!

No, I'm not addicted. The last time I visited this wonderous site was Friday.
We moved offices over the weekend - imagine my horror when, on Monday morning, I was unable to log in to this sanctuary of golfing greatness!!

I was so incensed that I've applied for another job!!

They've sorted out the internet filters so I'm back up and running........

Still looking for another job though
