Hi everyone. Im sitting in the house and its cats and dogs outside. The course is absolutely flooded and been closed for weeks. Havent played for 8 weeks 2 days and 5 hours give or take. I think i am going to go insane if i dont get a game soon. The wife doesnt understand so i thought i would get it off my chest with fellow golfers. All i have been able to do is go to the range a couple of times and have a few swings in the bedroom. I love golf so much it hurts, theres not a minute that goes by without me thinking about it. I actually think i am addicted to it. Does anyone else have the same problem or do i need help.

nothing wrong with a harmless, little, addiction now is there.
my partner has no understanding of golf but she now looks for holiday destinations which offer a chance of my playing - without prompting. there is hope.

what you need is a 'business' trip.

Im so addicted too i play golf then i think golf all day then i dream golf absolutely drives me mad,the reason for me is because when i do something new i always want to give it everything ive got,its probably the same for you.I suppose its a bit like a drug addiction we need are fix but as we get used to that fix we need a bigger dose and a bigger kick.I also have a goal and wont stop till i get there, thats what makes this forum so interesting as theres a lot of us in the same boat, the good thing about this addiction it shouldnt effect are health, hopefully.

No, just your spelling :D

I read ages ago that some walk along the street thinking "It's about a 9 iron to the traffic lights"
Or
You could fit 3 nice holes in that field

Yeah thats me
I used to be a heroin addict, but got back into golf when I needed something even more addictive.

all men suffer this kind of addiction whether it's golf, fishing or stamp collecting. I look forward to playing more than actually playing (if you know what I mean)

lol, im one of those, every bit of green field i pass, im lik "could make a decent par 4 there, tee box by the tree" etc, at least i know im not alone!

Brother, I would advise you to play around a bit. Dont feel you are being unfaithful. If you are not getting any action at home (course) then look for another who is willing to put out and let you walk all over it. Dont feel guilty about it and when you are back on your home track just act like nothing has happened.

I feel like im sitting in a circle of people and I should stand up and say

'My names TRS30 and I'm a golfaholic' to be followed by lots of clapping and encouragement :) :)

I think my addiction stems from the drive to improve not for the love of golf,i love playing the game but the burning ambition to improve and get to single figures is the addiction side of it.

I'm glad i'm not alone.
Not only have i fitted in 5 rounds in 4 days, and reading golf monthly yesterday, i also watched last nights pga on sky and some of the tips that are on this website.
And what do i do for the half hour before round three of the PGA - browse and post on this forum.
I need help (or for my wife n kids to come back from the in-laws :D)

Anyone reading the posts above would think that golf is a matter of life or death.

Come on chaps, get a grip - it's far more important than that.

:o :o :o :D :D :D
