I played this course on Saturday and have to say it is the best course in the area that I have played.
I have played The Cromwell at Abbotsley a lot and is nothing in comparison to this well maintained parkland course.
It opens with a par 3 that plays 225 yards with bunkers in front of the green and ends with a par 3 that all though is 150 yards and S.I 18 is not as easy as it looks as it has a large pond in front of the green.
It is not as narrow as you think and on some holes you can really let loose with the driver. There is water in play on 10 holes and plenty of bunkers (some of them pretty deep) to keep the round interesting.
Despite the rain in the area in recent weeks the fairways were beautiful although slightly longer then maybe they should be and the greens were very receptive.
I will certainly be returning very shortly to play it again. It is only £25 to play after 2pm at weekends.
The stand out hole for me was the par 3 11th called Mousehole. It maybe short but with water and the tress to contend with it is no means an easy hole.
