A lesson that I have related to

Since I have bought my SLDR I have struggled massively to get a consistent drive away. When I am on am on I am on. But when I am off my tyrets kicks off big style. I have spent a lot of the winter working on my short game, but my driving was getting on my tits.
anyway, three weeks into the season I decided to have a lesson with a view to buying a new driver. First thing he more or less said was "the only person that stands wider than that was Nadia Comaneci doin the splits". Charming, he explained how I would not be able to get square to the ball when hitting the shot. How standing that wide was putting the brakes on a shot and losing power.
anyway I went to the range earlier this week and Struggled a bit. Went to the range today and had the best range session I have have ever had. I was gobsmacked. It felt smooth. I was hitting the ball cleaner and further than before without trying to leather it.
Very strange.

Glad it worked out. Big fan of lessons and if it saves you a fortune on a new driver then money well spent although there's always great fun to be had hitting new shinies

Our regualr playing partner is polish decendent and is brilliant when he swears - all in Polish , when in Pro Ams - the pro winds him up to get him swearing cause its that funnt

What I forgot to mention was that he initially never had a look at my drivin, he asked me to leather a seven iron. When I had finished with that I had a tickle with my driver. In essence he said my swing was iffy.

I thought it was normal, because I have read somewhere that to get distance you stand/spread wider.
