I an referring to the team I support Blackpool, t was less than 4 years ago that we won promotion to the Premier league and all the riches attached.
At Christmas in our first season we were in 8th place and "everyones 2nd club". A little sensible investment in the January window would have ensured we stayed in the league for another season, but all we bought were has beens and the result was we were relegated on the last day of the season.
We did invest in some better has beens in the summer and actually reached the play off finals again the following season where we were unlucky to lose to West Ham. It was also revealed in the accounts that our Owner was paid £11 million in "wages"
A good start to the next season but lack of investment meant our iconic manager left for pastures new and the replacement lasted a matter of weeks before leaving himself, we eventually appointed the father of our star player and narrowly survived relegation.
Sadly most of our players were out of contract and we started pre season with just 8 senior players. We added to the squad with a batch of lower league players and some over the hill strikers and amazingly had our best start ever with 16 points from our first 6 games. However the wheels came off and we went 18 games without a win. The manager was sacked and our captain was put in charge of the team.
We actually managed a couple of wins but apart from those results have not improve, culminating with getting beaten at home last Saturday by the bottom of the league leaving us just 3 points above the relegation places.

This brings me to the point of the thread, this week the official supporters group recognised by the club, as opposed to the independent group that arguably has more members, decided to write 3 letters, one to the Chairman, expressing disappointment n the way the club was being run, one to the fans saying that we were all in it together and to stop protesting at games and finally one to the players expressing the disappointment n the way they were playing. This last letter was read out to the players at training today. Only 2 of these players are contracted to the club for next season, the rest are either out of contract or are on loan from other clubs.

This is the final part of a complete shambles the club has become, and we still have a final years parachute payments to come next season.

This rant may not mean much to any of you but it was good to get it off my chest.

It's ok!

I'm looking forward to my first official comp at the golf club followed by the captains black tie dinner on Saturday!

Go to be better than Leeds away!

Try being a Leeds follower, now that is proper torture.

This could become even messier than it was a few years ago!

It's one of the reasons that Newcastle fans should actually thank Mike Ashley - even if there appears little ambition. It could have been so much worse!

Blackpool just a small team most fans thinking of Europe in first season of premiership

Harsh but I agree with this.
As good as it may have been Blackpool are a tiny club and have had their chance in the spotlight, it happens year in year out.
Barnsley, Charlton, Notts County, Bradford anyone?

I tend to agree...

I went watching Blackpool all over the country for 30+ years and was amazed when we fluked getting into the prem.

I went to every game home and away knowing it would be the only chance to get to some of the grounds.. (and see us take 6 points off Liverpool;) )
Im glad I did because I saw modern football for what it is. Its fantasy football, which is stupidly expensive. We didn't belong there and I was relieved we held our head up, played some decent stuff at times and went down with dignity.

After that the fans expectations went through the roof, and the owner got worse with the prospect of all the money to be made.
I didn't enjoy going anymore and apart from some fun away days I realized I had finished with it all.

And to my surprise the money I used to spend on football was more than enough to join a decent golf club and it didn't take up as much of my time and was a thousand percent healthier for me..

Sorry Jack I forget I am not the only pool fan around here these days.

Not the only pool fan, and another equally disappointed.

My dad's had his season ticket for a while and renewed again this year out of a feeling of loyalty despite not being able to get to many games, no chance of him doing it again next year - even at £200.

I've been to maybe 10 games this year and they've all been so lacklustre in every department. Seriously, watching Leeds and Brighton at home and Burnley away left me morbidly depressed over Christmas.

Unfortunately though, whilst that clown and his son still run everything the way they do, there's not a sniff of improvement. Why would you want to sign for us nowadays? You'd get better pay at almost every other championship side, and players know full well that if we do manage a minor miracle again, under the current rule they'll be no investment to keep us up / in the cup or whatever it is.

God only knows what happen to our Latvian saviours a few seasons back but until things turn around, I'm not feeling overly obliged to fork over anymore money for them to build another hotel / casino / lair for Owen to bring young girls back to.

Try being a Fulham fan. They just find frsh ways of breaking your heart. Having followed them home and away, especially when we were close to going out the league, plus all the crap about mergers in the Bulstrode era, the last decade or so have been a joyous period culminating in a European final. Who would ever have dreamed little Fulham would have beaten giants like Juve.

The realist in me recognises this glorious period will end in May. When we go down the likes of Hangeland, Stecklenburg and many others including the promising youngsters are likely to go. Whoever is in charge (please not Magath) will have to start again. I am actually prepared to spend some time in the championship providing we get the players we need, a manager that can build and the funds to do so.

I loved Blackpool with Holloway in charge. They played without fear. I didn't realise they were in such a mess now. Many clubs have been through it and most come out the other end better for it. I hope that Blackpool get the stability they need and you can start to climb again.

I'm sure Blackpool fans would swap with Fulham fans right now - I bet a lot of clubs would do.

It may take time but things will hopefully get better.

As a Doncaster Rovers fan we were the laughing stock of the Football League about 15 years ago, relegated to the conference with the lowest points total ever. A Chairman convicted of paying someone to burn down the main stand. There wasn't much hope. The fans held a funeral service to mark the death of the club.

Then along came John Ryan, a fan who was also a millionaire. He promised us a new stadium, a trophy and championship football. This all looked a long way off from mid table in the conference but he delivered on all 3 promises, with a playoff final win at Wembley against Dirty Leeds along the way.

Just wanted to give you a bit of hope that things can change, and quickly in this game.
