A game of two halves

Played today and on the front 9 had a total mare:
OOB on 1st Tee shot, next into water, walked of the 1st hole with a 9.
Silly duffed chip and end up with 7 on the 2nd, after 8 holes I was 11 over gross.
Tee shot on 9in water, drop and struck the ball well only for it to hit a branch and lost where it landed. So I NR'd on the 9th.

Well I thought it pointless scoring now.

So had I gone back could have still been in buffer, but I imagine the problem is between my ears not whats in my hands.

Anyone else have a shocker only for it to end with a decent run

Not quite a shocker but a game of 2 halves like you.

Hit every fairway on the front 9 and 4 foot from the pin on the par 3 2nd only to shoot a 45 front.
Hit 1 fairway on the back 9 and shot 42.

Last but one comp was 11 over after 9, playing off 13. Made buffer.

Saturday I almost went even better on the front, 13 over after 9 that INCLUDED a 12 on the 2nd. Had I not been a turd on the last hole, I'd have made buffer.

I'll never NR because I'm having a shocker but I will if it's a complete waste of time looking for a ball when my PPs are on a score. One of the lads I was with on Saturday started whinging after 8, "early bath for me lads" etc. Pee'd me off and I just cracked on playing some half decent stuff. So did he once he'd got it out of his system and he just fell short of buffer as well.

We had a laugh and played with smiles. When I don't, I won't bother.

reminds me of a round i played at woodlands manor.
front nine was atrocious i was 11 over gross, i played the back nine in level par to be five under on the round .shame it was only a bounce game.

Last competition I played in I had 15 points round the front and was playing stupidly, back 9 had 24 points and played the best golf i've played for some time!
