so my arm felt surprising good after my prang on Friday (painkillers, ice and deepheat work a treat) so thought what the hell, go and have a gentle knock and if it plays up then will just go home.

1st 9 were pretty crap, out in 55 for an amazing 11 points!!!

Back 9 was a different story, missed a birdie putt on 10 ended up with bogey, then 2 more missed par putts taking bogeys, finished with 3 pars in the last 4 with a missed birdie putt on 15 and the par 5 18th, 21 points for the back 9 for a total 32 points, 99 strokes

I guess because of the shoulder I was swinging a lot easier and within myself, drove my best yet, a few duffed chips, 1 4 putt (arggggh) but a hell of a lot to show I am definitely getting there

heres a link to my scorecard

Well your golfshot stats look alot better than mine!! I linked to the golfplan and the graph is on a downward spiral!! Is that with the full version as I only use the lite one at the moment.

yeah I got the full version, I dont use golfshot that much as cant use my iphone in comps so have got used to using markers and estimating distances

just noticed I had my h.c as 26, should be 28 so 2 more points = 34 (still under handicap tho grrrr)

Great going on the back, this happens a lot, you have a stinker of a front 9 and because you're not protecting anything and you know it's not going to be a great round you loosen up and play free-flowing golf. The opposite can happen when you have a good front - implosion because you start thinking about how great the round could be etc. That's why many of us average out at a certain level.

Don't worry about the missed putts. The thing to remember is you played some great golf to put yourself in those positions, so it won't be long before your H/C starts to fall, you just have to trust yourself that you're getting better and when you do start shooting the lights out on the front 9 have the confidence in your ability to play solid back as well. Next time out try not to add up your score as you go around. Just go out, have fun, and play 18 mini-games, within which your aim should be to shoot 1 over par on that hole (2 on the really hard ones). If you managed that, and you don't add up what you've been scoring til the end, you'll be much closer to 90 than 100.
