If they get him, how strong will Real Madrid be next year ?

Cripes, £80m for that diving piece of shat, £56m for Kaka ? What credit crunch :D

How can anyoner justify spending that much money in football for one player ? It's disgusting and there MUST be a cap put on the transfer fee. To go froma World Record of £56m for Kaka only days ago, to now jump to £80m is a disgrace to football fans all over the world.

Very good business by SAF and ManU. £80mill will buy a lot of new talent.
Ronaldo wants to play for his boyhood heroes in a very good league and live in a climate far more suited to a lad from Madeira. Can't knock him for that or for his efforts for Utd. Utd fans and premiership fans should be grateful they had the chance to watch him for 4 or 5 years.
Real Madrid go through phases of great teams then mediocre teams, I think they are on the up again and will be great again soon.
The ManU team will not be greatly weakened for Ronaldos loss, Frank Ribery or equivalent will plug the gap.

As long as Utd spend the money wisely then it's a good bit of business for them.

He's been a distraction every summer for the past 2-3 years so let him go.

As for Real Madrid, I wouldn't fancy being the manager there. Imagine trying to handle all the egos in that dressing room!?

The world, or rather football, has gone absolutely £$*&%£$ mad!!!!!!!!!!!

To put it into a little more context....Ronaldo, that is 1 man, is being sold for a price that is comparable to what Newcastle United, thats a whole club, will be sold for!!

Unbelievable!

Of course he will now be on somewhere in the region of a Million euro's per minute contract which is a huge slap in the face to all football fans everywhere.

I say this with no malice....I hope Real Madrid, a team I always like watching and do actually like, go bust very soon as it will be a sweet justice to football.

Madrid will be very interesting next season, they *could* blow everyone out of the water or blow up themselves!!!

And the first potential clash...

58 million profit - not a bad bit of business.
Did ManU collapse when Beckham went? No. Will they collapse now Ronnie's going - No. They can buy Tevez and 3 or 4 other players and actually strengthen the squad.
Ronaldo is good but when he gets a sulk on he's not woth having in the team.

so many Ronaldo haters. . . lol personally i am sad to see him leaving the prem he is a player that plays the game the way it should be. He is an entertainer and to say he is "a diving piece of shat" is ridiculous. He is the best player in the world, granted noone justifies £80 million price tag, but if Kaka goes for £56 million then Ronaldo should go for a lot more. . . I watch Birmingham week in week out, so only get to see Route 1 long ball from my team but Ronaldo was a show man. . .

one thing i wont miss though is the free kick routine. . . standing there, panting, looking for a camera to look at, eyeing up the 7th free kick that half and smashing it most of the time wide and then him putting his hands together praying to the gods for one of them to go in. . . . haha

I'm sitting on the fence over it to be honest, on one hand i'm sad to see him go as the Premier League is losing its biggest star to La Liga. On the other hand he does himself no favours with the way he carries himself on the pitch and in his mannerisms (diving).

I would personally never get sick of stamping on his face, meatsock & judelaws, yet on the flip side when he wants to play football and stop being a silly arse then, aside from Ronaldinho, there is no better player to watch.

Its a sad day for the Premier League though, as it confirms that it is no longer the biggest & best league in the world, it has now been surpassed & massively eclipsed by La Liga.

I can't wait to see the back of the horrible greasy slimey little cheat he is the only player who dives more than Steven Gerrard - Man U will be a weaker team next year no matter who replaces him - happy days

Mono - sorry but he has a reputation for it especially around Europe. As a football fan I'm sorry to see Ronaldho leave the premiership as he is one of only a handful of players that can truely turn a game in a matter of seconds but only when he's "on". Watched him against Fulham and he was the epitomy of petulance and to be honest I'd be surprised if he completed more than 5 passes throughout the 2nd half.

I think United will now buy Tevez, and with the money they should get for Berbatov if they do the right thing and lose him as I think he's been poor for them, they'll have around £100m to spend. Maybe they could by Newcastle as a Man Utd reserve team.

Not sure on Ribery. Has some good games but looked poor in a poor Bayern side this season.
