What can you do with your 7 iron (please keep it clean it's a family forum)

I suppose what I am trying to say, is it the most versatile of all irons

I've just borrowed my dog for 5 minutes, and he can balance it on his nose like a seal with a beach ball.

I can get spiders off the ceiling.

Should I try it in the shower for hard to reach places.....maybe the grooves could rub down the skin on my feet.

I reckon it can probably reach the TV remote.....

It can't open my beer though.....useless item.....

7 iron is good for low punches out under trees, chip and runs up a long green from just off the fringe, the obvious shot where an 8 is too short and a 6 is too long :
Ive been trying the low slice and hook with it recently as the trees are once again huge targets off our teeboxes and usually you have a chip out, gaining an extra 50 yards is a big advantage for some of our greens.

thanks for that Dave, I'll keep the 7 iron at home from now on

As it's a Wilson 7 iron you really mean a 6 iron.....er not much different from my 5, proper 7, 8 and 9 iron.......

that's what I like about your replies, you know it all :D

Thanks and it has been said before - I would actually say the 8 iron is the most versatile club in reality......

my Pro thinks different he was the one who actually said to me that
the 7 iron is the most versatile club. But I'll take your word for it, as I don't want this to get into a debate

A Wilson Staff Di7 7 iron, assuming you have these is in fact a 6 iron loft wise.

Agree the 8 iron is the most versatile, but that's boring Golf, get out there and try stupid things!

As, apparently according to Nigel, I am the oracle...I would say my 3 wood is the most versatile club in my hands, of the tee, off the deck, cut, hook, high, low, chip and run etc but I am sure that everyone has their own versatile club....but what would I know hey!?...

I'm not good enough to lay up so why bother......

Full on shots about 160 yds but I also use it for punch shots obviously. Not a huge lover of it as a go to club around the green but it does have its moments. Stock chipping club is a 9 and I work up or down from that dependent on lie/run out/slope.

That's why I have two sets of irons.

One for general household stuff, a 3 iron by the bed for dealing with intruders (should that happen) and a pick and mix of wedges for practising around the antique furniture.

I always feel the 3 iron a bit unwieldy when clobbering intruders. Now the sand wedge, Now there's a club to batter a baddie with.

Trouble with a sand wedge is the temptation to catch the ground an inch before the burglar..... :)

I find the nine iron is more versatile for indoor swinging at intruders. The 3, although in the house due to being impossible to wield on course, hits the ceiling if swung with any vigour, leaving the aforementioned villain to flee whilst club is extracted from ceiling.

On course, I find the shank of any iron extremely versatile, as long as the intended direction is to the right. I can do high and low shots to order.

My driver can also double as a lob wedge.
