Had a nice game today with two friends, not the best score in the world, shot a 90 my H/C is 28.

Didnt know it at the time, as my mate was keeping score for all of us, but I did 18 holes and shot a 5 on every hole.

Was looking at the card and feeling good about this fact until my friend pointed out to me that my round was made up of 3 pars...11 Bogeys...4 double bogeys, which makes it sound like a bad day.

I think I broke 90 today, just! trouble is I play off 9 :D :D

I got it round in 77, first game on course since mid September so not too bad but an absolute mixed bag of everything from the downright awful to the pretty decent (3 birdies) and the odd great shot.

Driving awful but no rough yet luckily, iron play decent, chipping so-so, putting ok
:p

Well played Del, 90 is decent but it's also a milestone barrier psychologically to break so stick at it, handicap should be falling soon? First time I broke 90 in a junior competition I hit an 83, it came out of nowhere and I was ecstatic at the time

10 over par 79 for me today off 13 so quite a good day except that I was 7 over after 6 holes .
Had a stern word with myself on the 6th tee which led to my first par of the day then went fron strength to strength, hiiting some superb iron shots on the way, driving was pretty good, missed only 2 fairways and putting was very steady if not spectacular. All that meaning I played 6 to 18 in 3 over par :)

This is the story of my game at moment, playing some good stuff but cant seem to do it for 18 holes :D

Del? forgive me if I'm wrong but did you say you had 18 straight 5's, and you didn't relise it. On another post someone said about players knowing their own score, surely you knew at some stage of the game you had a roll of 5's going!!!!
If you didn't I think it's time you started to notice what you have and have had at holes, it might help your game!!!!

Remarkable......

I made a good few 5s today, not to mention six 6s!!!

When it was bad, it was terrible. Then again, I got close to my h'cap with a record 4 birdies.....

sweet and sour? anyone?

Plain rice for you mate!.....your par 5s must have been tidy, shame about the par 3s :) :D

Well as you can all tell, par 3's are not my strong holes, I'm fine when taking irons off the grass but just can't get them going off the tee.

My driver and putter are working fine, just got to get my short irons working, not able to get much flight ( height ) with them, so I tend to go through the green must of the time.

But all in all, not to unhappy with the round.

Del

Clubchoapm07 I knew I have been hiting a few 5's but was not marking a card so not really thinking about it much.

Will take more notice next time !!

Odd one this - play it the same as a fairway shot, just tee it very low so it's barely off the ground. I suspect you're possible teeing it up and scooping it - if you can hit it good off the fairway you should be able to do the same on the tee!

The way I'm playing at the moment, I'd take 5's through the round. A little dissapointing on the pars 3's, but hey, look what you got on the par 5's.

Looks like you played to around 18 H'cap (10 under) you should be happy with that this early in the season.

Play well for the rest.
