would we be breaking any rules if we accepted a Card from pair who had no marker - or should they have completed each other cards as if a singles comp - no doubts about their correctness of recorded scores but know someone is going to claim their scores are unacceptable -

In my opinion that is a club decision, however it is one that should be made before the comp and not after.

The rules for 4BBB stroke play only refer to 3.3b2 (The players))and not 3.3b1 the marker

unfortunate circumstances put them in this position and as the organiser knew of this it would be safe to advise anyone complaining that they had permission, thanks for reply a big help

I have accepted cards like these on more than one occasion, both in club comps and once in an Open. Two signatures on card and all gross scores recorded. I don't see it as a problem. Does every scramble team have a separate marker? I think not.

Just yesterday me & my playing partner split up so he could mark the card of a pair who were on their own & hadn't understood that it was a pairs Comp that day & then that they couldn't really just keep their own score. My partner & I putted out on every hole & then combined our scores when we came in. It did mean we hadn't got the benefit of playing a B/Ball together but allowed 2 guys to join in the Comp. After all we don't do this for a living..... those guys were very pleased we'd helped them out.... & I came in with 38pts on me own.... how ever my partner didn't do quite as well..... 39pts in total.... 44pts won it.
