Well thats it, all three cards are in and I await to see what handicap I will get.

All three cards I put in were true and honest ones, all signed but three different players, but after today’s game the chap (ex secretary of a local golf club)I was playing with thinks I might not get one or might have to put another card in.

The reason he said that was because the 3 cards I have put in are so different.

The cards are, 97 (out 51 in 46)... 107!!! (out 60 in 47) very wet and windy, then today... 87 (out 45 in 42) Course is a Par 71 sss 69

Today’s game was my best ever round and it all came together, driving was good, only had 31 putts and in between the rain showers my irons were going well.

So what do you think, should the cards stand or will I have to put in another card or two??

Bit of a letdown really, was felling so good after shooting a PB only to be told this.

Cheers

Cant see why you would have to tbh. If they are genuine and signed wheres the problem. Someone more qualified in this matter will be along to correct me soon :D

I did the same thing, ish, this winter=92,101 and 87-Par 72 and was given 16. Cant see the bloke's point, everytime we play the course is different so the handicap sec should just deal with it.
good luck

I put my cards in in the middle of winter in howling gales and torrential rain each time. No questions asked about why the scores were so high and they were accepted no problem. In my case I was an ex-member so they did have something to base my handicap on as well. I think you should be fine with the cards you have.

I wouldn't worry about it, if they say anything then just do another card. You're in a similar boat to me, the HC Secretary put me off 19 after shooting a 90 with my 3rd card, the other two were 95 and 104, thought it was a little bit unfair as it's not very often I shoot 90, then last week I posted an 81 gross, signed the card and handed it in. When I spoke to the HC Secretary, he gave me a bit of an odd look but just followed it with, "you're getting better, time for a cut I think".

Yet to see what my new HC is though.

I agree, don't see a problem. Even if they do ask for another one there's no way they'll disregard your PB so that's as high as it's going to be.

Well done on the great score btw :)

I wouldn't worry about it, my 3 cards were 105, 110 and a 93.
So i had a diffrence of 17 shots between my best and worst card and i got given a 22 handicap.

Right I have been up to the club today to check all was OK with my cards.

Was told they are fine and not to worry about them, plus H/C will be worked out on all 3 and will be closer to my PB than the others and should know by mid week.

So thanks for the reply's and now just have to wait and see.

After a few days waiting I have been given my new handicap, and its 20 :D

Was told this morning and then went out and shot a 91, which is spot on.

Got to see if I can repeat my 87 now to get it coming down.
