Noticed there are a couple of posts on here regarding 3 woods, but I could do with some advice.

I have got an Stiff shafted RBZ 2 Tour TS 3 wood that is currently set at 14.5. Problem is although it is monster from the tee box, I just do not get a nice high flight from the fairway with it. It does go straight and stupidly long though, bit not with a nice long carry. Now it is not me, I know this as with my Stiff Superfast 2.0 TP that I had before I did get a nice high flight from the fairway with lots of carry. Unfortunately I sold that to my mate and there is no way he is giving to let me have it back.

Just wondering if anyone else has found this problem with these 3 woods, or could someone recommend a change of shaft that will give me higher launch angle.
 
I had a RBZ Tour 3w at 14.5.
Absolutely monster off the tee
Absolutely rank off the floor.....couldn't get any lift with it at all.

Looks like you might need to scour eBay....

not quite the answer I was looking for, but at least I am not the only one.

anyone want a 13* 3 wood for tee shots as it goes a mile from the tee

Welcome back mate I thought you left us.
I saw a Mark Crossfield vid the other day saying that a strong 3 wood will have a launch angle
of 8 or 9 so im sure that has something to do with it.
Long off the tee but rubbish off the deck.

i think I am going to have to move it on either way as I do not like it. Question is what to look at instead....
 
Ok Pal ill try my best here.....
The RBZ 2 Tour TS is a lower launching lower spinning head than the Superfast..... The weight is positioned more forward in the head for a more penetrating flight....
Whereas the Superfast has the weight deeper in the head promoting a higher launch...
Fairways with the weight forward in the head will nearly always launch lower off the fairway than off a tee....

You'd probably need to take a little divot with the RBZ off a fairway lie to get it higher..... Taking a divot off the fairway with a wood is considered a proper way to hit with them......

Thanks for the info. Not really a technique problem as I do make a scar on the deck when I hit it. I say it does not go high enough, it probably flies 15 or 20 foot off the deck and goes about 260ish with carry and roll out. But I want something that I can hit into greens, so looking for a higher flight with plenty of carry that will come down softer.

i was was more curious to see what experiences other people have had with these.

Changing your swing to suit a club...Not sure that's a great idea!
 
To be honest if you are getting that distance off the tee I wouldn't be fussed. How often do you really use it off the deck? I could use mine on the long par 4's or 5's especially in winter but the risk/reward isn't worth it and I play them as three shooters and use my shots. Maybe look for a different model (Ping is the future) to give the best of both worlds but I don't think your current model will ever fly as you'd like

Try the HL RBZ stage 2.
 
Does seem to be a bit of a misfit.

I know a Pro ho has the RBZ Tour 4-wood for pretty much the same reason. It was a little while ago so I think it must have been the original RBZ. There have been a couple of 'generations' since and what I remember as a '4' is now 3HL. He's a relatively short hitter but still hit it 265+ off the tee!

It's not so much about the loft as the distance, though the loft does affect the flight. And that was the reason he went that way.

So I'd support LiverpoolPhil's suggestion. Or maybe even the 5? As I state above - ignore the loft. it's the distance (and flight) that counts. Was the '17 more yards' actually right?

Ignore the lofts as Fozholer has suggested. You will find the HL goes just as far but gives you a high launch.

This is what I need to look into and hit a few different ones. I was just interested to know how others have got with RBZ Stage2 3 woods from the deck as it annoys me I do not get the same results as I do from the tee box. I just want a fairway to fill the gap below the 18* MPH4, but also goes well from the tee as I do hit a lot of 3 woods off the tee.

By by the way the extra distance they claim is correct as I did lean into this 3 wood on one tee shot to see if I could do a Dustin Johnson with it.
