3 wood or 5 wood or both?

right, as we can only have 14 clubs in the bag I am in a toss up between a 3 wood and 5 wood, or use both and drop my 4 iron (which I have been doing until recently)

I dont feel I can/lose much between either. My driver varies between the 907 D1 10.5 in stiff to my cobra hs9 12 deg in reg, until I get consistant with 1 particular then I tend to sway between the 2.

Bloody game, as if hitting the things isnt enough to think about

keep your 4 iron and drop the 3 iron. You can then have 3,5 woods in your setup...

I never carry 3 iron as cant hit it except off the tee

If you have 2 and 3 hybrids, per sig, I would drop the 5 wood or the 2 hybrid.

makes sense, just realised about checking the lofts, 2 hybrid is 18 deg, 5 wood is 18.5 so not much difference and hit the hybrid sweet. decision made, cheers Ethan

I'm confused.

I have 14 "dividers" in my bag, so if every one is full, I have 14 clubs.

I have a driver, 3 and 5 wood. I have irons 3-SW including a gap wedge. I have a putter too!

Where's the issue.

no issue, just got too many clubs to choose from therfore always seem to have to lose 1 or 2

all sorted now so gonna go with this setup and hide the spares for a while in case I get tempted to change again in the near future

I'd drop the 2 hybrid for the 5 wood every time. Much easier to hit and I think you'll get more consistent results

I only carry a 5 wood as I can't hit a 3 wood off the deck. I hit 3 iron if I need a safe tee shot on a shortish but tight par 4 and tend to use the 5 wood for a variety of shots around the 190-210 yard range. This leaves me a spot for the extra wedge .... PW + 50, 54, 58.

I'm currently deliberating whether to go the hybrod or 5w route myself and had been swaying towards the hybrid as they are meant to be easier to hit and more versatile?

Yeah thats why I dont carry the 2 woods generally, if I hit them well then no probs, trouble is I dont 7 out of 10, a tend to have a bit more consistency with hybrid. Horses for courses of course

A low loft hybrid is not easier to hit for me. Then again, I'm a bit "special".

I play with a lad on here who's a big strong hitter. He uses a 17 degree hybrid (I think) and he murders it, totally amazing! Give him a 17 degree fairway and he'd be up in the air, ballooning away to Africa and losing distance and all sorts.
