Hello all,

Myself and 3 of my friends fancy going away next year to play golf. We were looking to go around April time, or in October. We were thinking of France, Portugal or Spain. We have a budget of roughly £300 each for the Golf, accommodation and flights. Is it better to book it all separately or book it through a company? Can anyone that's been recommend anywhere? A villa would be nice...

Thanks in advance

We went to amendoeira for 4 nights last summer. Cost us about £450 with flights. They had unlimited golf so we had 6 rounds and could have gotten in another round if we hadn't had a night in the casino too! :) Food was good pub grub, villa's were exceptional! Loved both the courses. Faldo was a hard course with some gimmicks but was so much fun to play! It was hard though, none of us did all that well on it! :) the O'Connor course was more traditional and had a decent amount of water on it, but again it was very memorable. The 18th in particular was very good. Free practice facilities and one of the best driving ranges I've ever been on. Even got those little pyramids of balls :) To be honest we thought it was that good we are currently arranging another trip there in April time.

Sounds perfect. How did you book it, yourself or through a company?

We did it through Your Golf travel. They were great. We found a cheaper flight than they could offer and we sorted out Hire Cars, I would avoid the company we went with which was called Gold Car. bunch of cowboys! pick one of the big boys, it would be worth it!

Been to Portugal twice, booked flights seperate, booked hotels seperate and it was no hassle at all. For peace of mind you might want to book through a special travel company but for that you pay a premium.
if budget is something you have to stick to ie £300 then booking it yourself is probably the only option. If you can stretch to £450 then the previous suggestion, well snap there hands off as it can be expensive for golf especially for the courses mentioned. Re gold car, bloody robbing gits don't go near them. Another thought re clubs, ave took my own both times, again it could work out expensive to rent out there. If there is four of you it's either two cars or a decent sized van. Enjoy me man.
