What a mental afternoon I have had!

Been at the belfry and have hit pretty much every main line driver on the market, I think it was about 35 in total! My arms, shoulders, back etc are in agony! But great fun all the same!

Quickly found out that my stock shaft in my r11 has to go, 110mph swing speed and stock shaft explain my inconsistent driving!

Some really interesting results though, ones one of the clubs I thought I would love, I simpy did not like, and one I wouldn't even consider picking up performed very well! Biggest shock was the Dunlop Nz9 which for the money, performed very well with consistent direction, and half decent distance!

My top 3 clubs...

Taylormade r11s won for me, it was epic, 250/260 yard Carry on the uphill range at the belfry.

Callaway razr x black came a close second, great distance and good forgiveness

Ping i20 came third, again great distance, feel and suprising forgiveness considering I didn't get on with the g20!

So there you go, fun fun fun! Now for a radox bath.....

R11s far better than the r11 then?!

Will I sell my r11 for an r11s? No. I need a new shaft for mine, but for the extra £100+ I would have to throw at an s, no. If I had no driver and was in the market, I would buy one without even thinking about it. An epic club, but that's not to say the standard r11 is not.... Does that make sense? It does to me lol!

So have you bought or still debating. What shaft did you have in the R11s that was different to the stock shaft in your R11

I was never buying today... In mine, I have stock regular lol!! No wonder its been inconsistent to be polite! The r11s had the standard fuji stiff. Worked for me!

A new shaft is the way to go. I had a Titleist fitting 2 weeks ago and went for a slightly heavier shaft and it does what it says on the tin. It cost £70 to change - a lot better than a new driver!

Interesting report Rooter. I don't envy you tomorrow!!!! How forgiving would you say the i20 is then?

The i20 was very forgiving, miss the sweet spot and it still went straight ish.. i would say it would put you in the first cut of most fairways.. some of the drivers i miss hit and they went wild! i scored the i20 4/5 for forgivness! for me, it was more forgiving than the G20!

If you are thinking of one, go and try it, it was a very very nice club!!

And oh my god, do i ache in some places. worst and weirdest is my right bum cheek muscle! LOL few blisters coming on my hands and my left thumb still feels numb! shoulders feel remarkably loose! my pop to the range on lunch! NOT!!
