Magnificient last 3 holes from Mr Woods to post a 69 in R1.
A joy to watch , let's hope for more of the same in the next 3
Absolutely agree with both comments! The last 3 holes were very well played by Thomas and Rory, but Tiger brought back feelings I haven't had, watching 1st rounds, for years! He didn't seem to be struggling up those cruel steps either, so there's hope for a fit Tiger for round 2. Irrespective of how that goes, it's another visibly big improvement! He's just SO mentally strong!

Shorts......I agree when it is over 100 degrees the Pro's must be made to wear trousers.....not like us, being able to play in a little bit more of comfort.

Maybe we should all go back to playing in a coat and tie.

My English friends all wear shorts when they come out to OZ, and no one takes the mickey because of their white legs, just common sense prevails.

what people forget in this argument is that modern day golf trousers are light and airy. It really makes no difference to their performance for the sake of making them look smarter on tv.

I have no issue with Pros wearing shorts, for the most part they look smart and just like ebery golfer in hot climates. My problem with Bobby Macintyre was that he wore black shorts and black socks with very white (nearly pale blue) legs, he looked like a schoolboy in borrowed gym kit - anywhere in the world his mates would have taken the Mickey out of him.

agree he did not look flash, but how many Pro's in trousers look awful as well.

Maybe if hed been able to wear shorts for the last 10 years he would have a nice tan by now, just saying.....

I remember Monty playing at The Vines (Perth OZ) one year, he drank a bottle of water a hole (18 bottles) and never had a pee, it was bloody hot over 100 degrees, am sure he would have loved to have been in shorts.
