• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

1st Senior event today

Yep... We were a 2 ball due to a no show.
Group ahead were asked to let us through by the referees when we caught them... 2 agreed ... 1 refused!!!
They had no choice when they lost a ball but I was still trying to get my head round why on earth he would want to do that and promptly lost a ball myself and racked up a 7 which included a referee not giving me a drop. Head went after that and never got it back.
Played as a 2 ball Sunday in our captains prize 1st round due to a pull out , by golly its hard in a full field to be waiting & waiting & waiting

Also played my worst golf in a long long time ,

First of many Rick onwards & upwards

It was odd Ian.....I didn't think it was tough...probably one of the easiest courses I've played this year
Really looking forward to shooting under handicap tomorrow.

Rick

3 rounds from 97 played were under par (net), NO rounds below par (gross), do you still think its one of the easiest you have played ?

Strangely, I still say yes, even though scores didn't reflect that....SSS went up 2 today so clearly not easy. 1st and 9th pretty tough and a couple of longish par 3's where you can't afford to miss the green.

I just felt with me hitting sensible irons and hybrids yesterday off most tees I never felt in trouble. If the short game hadn't deserted me, then I would have had one of my season best scores. I also had 3 x 3 putts.
Today was different and stupidly I allowed a couple of incidents to get into my head.

Course was presented immaculately today, food was excellent afterwards....all in all not bad for £35... I could get used to being a senior!!!
