After a few sessions on the driving range I played my first round last night. I've played a few rounds sporadically over the last few years but this is me now ready to apply myself to the sport.

I've been reading lots of websites and found the info on here pretty good. I always like hearing what amateur players have to say as opposed to always reading what a pro is saying. So I've decided to sign up.

Just got to find a club to join.

Thanks guys,

I'm just along the road in Kirkcaldy. I played dunikeer, the local municipal course last night but I'm not too sure about joining as a member as there seems to be some good cheaper options at some of the other clubs. Any suggestions from fifers would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome get stuck in and enjoy the madhouse that is the forum,
I'm sure they'll be some local guys along soon to help with advice on joining clubs in your area.

Depends if you can travel and how old. Balbirnie has some good deals on. As does Thornton usually, both are decent tracks. Don't really rate Dunny myself. If you have the money, Aberdour are looking for members but I would recommend on locality only as I left there a few years ago.
Into Dunfermline you have Pitreavie and Canmore. Couple of good tracks but both with problems in one from or another.

Yeah Thornton is one that appeals to me as its a five minute drive away.

Is it still worthwhile getting a membership given that I've missed a cunk of the season?
