2 weeks ago.. got my first handicap of 18

Today... Went past the 1K milestone today... Having started in Dec 2011.. Avg post of 1.76 posts/day.

This year... Will I break 90??? Who knows, I am on a roll.

This is a joke isn't it, surely off 18 you have broken 90. Don't take offence if you haven't I'm just surprised if that is the case

wrong thinking! it should be when will i break 90! :)

daveyboy quirk or the h/cap system and rounding for a new h/cap you dont need to of played to it even for initial allocation.
as the OP was only allocated last week this would explain the break 90 comment.

Yeah I suppose I'm just thinking his first comps will be a struggle for him off 18. What is the par at your course mate?

several courses the main one looks a par 72, so 90 would be playing too h/cap.

it will be tough i was/am in a similar situation after returning to club membership i shot an 81 (par/sss 70) for my 3rd h/cap card with a 7 on the 1st so ended up with 10 h/cap in the 15 comp round since i have only hit 80 once to play to level par although CSS went up to 71 giving me a little cut.

My course par is 72. Unfortunately, the 3 HC cards submitted had a 92. Once you ignore anything over double bogie, I had a great day!!!

this is half the problem of people just being given high handicaps when they first start out.

he might struggle to shoot a good medal score but there is nothing to say he wont shoot a decent stableford score.

if you don't struggle in you first few comps then you have the wrong handicap imo !

LoL dont be saying that, homer has just splurged on a new set of weapons as posting a bazillion times doesnt seem to have worked.

Post counts mean nothing btw, remember short and interesting quality content far outweighs protracted, generic and tedious quantity.

Go and see your local pro he will set you right

If nothing else works.. you might end up 'doing a homer' - crying on the course. (with apologies to homer), I think Homer has been immortalized

do you only play Hoebridge?

which holes do you lose your shots on?

Hoebridge is my home course. On a bad day I will lose shots on all of them. However the consistent bad boys are 4(P4), 5(P4), 9(P5), 13(P5), 16(P3), 17(P20)

Till I turned member this year, I would play anywhere that would let me in.
