€300 speeding fine!

Why do you feel the need to put your name in red at the end of every post. We can see who you are from your sig:sbox:

pay the fine - otherwise you be a crook and have conscience and St Peter will have it logged in his big book when you reach the pearly gates. Honesty is always the best option.

Just dont pay it. What they going to do? Come after you over boarders for ppeanuts? Ive had a parking ticket and speeding ticket in france and not paid. That was 5 years ago and last November. I've been there many times since.

I now wait for the forum members on high moral horses and to give me some stick. I wonder who the first will be!

ill go there.

As as someone who works in transport, all I ever hear from English drivers is complaining about paying road tolls in Europe and foreign lorry drivers avoiding fines.

If you were hit by a foreign driver who speed of and couldn't be traced I presume you'd just put it down to tough luck?

Im not talking about accidents buddy. Im taking about speeding fines, parking tickets and not paying them. Totally different

Okay, the problem has now gone away.
Realising that it was ALL MY OWN BLOODY FAULT, it was me who was driving the damned car, I decided to suck it up and pay the fine!
As they say ................. if you can't do the time, (or pay the fine), don't do the crime.
It took about 1½ hours to find out how to pay on-line, not helped by the fact that the notification was all in Spanish, and after paying said fine I made sure I printed several receipts .......... just in case.
Two things worth noting here;
1. Lloyds Bank phoned me, before the transaction was complete, to make sure that this transaction wasn't bogus. Well done LLoyds Bank .
2. The receipt showed that I'd received a 50% prompt payment discount meaning my fine was reduced from €300 to €150! I feel like I've just won €150. Honesty ALWAYS seems to pay.
Happy days.
The End.

Slime.

Does that mean you can spend the other £150 on golf equipment due to the fact you had already mentally lost it? :P

Not really, if you commit a crime irrelevant of size. Why should it be ok to to sweep it under the carpet and hope it goes away?
Either you expect everyone to be treated equally or not?

Im not really surprised you wouldnt pay - there is no moral high horse etc - its just doing the right thing.

I spent 3 hours in Manchester recently . got pinged by this bus lane camera. the ticket went to my old house as I stupidly didn't update my licence. went to court then bailiff. total £407!

I was turning right at traffic lights. first person around. tried to stay in left lane, which turns out to be a 40 meter bus lane. I was in it by accident for seconds. in the photo you can see I am all alone. not skipping anyone and actually half back out of the lane.

**** the law! **** Manchester city council!
