£50 putter fitting - am I mad?

The only downside there could be with this is if its on an artificial surface and not a proper putting green.

I've always bought 2nd hand putters because not many shops have proper putting greens that you can test the putters properly.

We don't have a pro shop at pur club neither.

If you sell you spider for £50 then that's effectively paid for your fitting.

They will tape up! any putter and let you play outside

Are you sure? I got a funny look when I asked the lad in AG Aintree could I take a putter outside to try

HAHAHAHAH the car park would have given a true roll

The ! mark was due to the fact I dont understand how you get a true roll or feel outdoors with it on yet in doors you can use it!

After reading all the comments, I'm edging towards going.

After nearly 20 years of playing -

Fitted for irons 3 years ago-iron play improved.

Fitted for a driver last year - driving improved.

Ive gone down from 10 to 6 in the last 2 years. Maybe being fitted is the way to go, but after reading their stuff, it does not mention a lesson also. I think I'll call them again, and check.

I may call tourX first, to see his rates.

In the meantime, scouser is interested also - is there anyone else, where I could ask if they'll do a group price, may get it for £40 each, even if not done on the same day.

Thanks for all the input people.

they will give you hints and tips the hour can be used any way.....you wont get an hour of tips and pointer then a 30 min fit

sorry if that confused you

Do you have enough front to get measured up etc. and then go shop around,as you are only paying for a fitting/lesson.

Oh yes! I was fitted at TFG Widnes for a driver, 3 wood and 2 hybrids - I said to him give me a good price and I'll buy off you. £720 he wanted for all 4.

He didn't and I got them all from direct golf for £650.

im intrested in hear if they want to bend the putter with flat or upright. im currently putting with my blade bent 2 degrees flat.

im tempted to buy a scrapper putter and bend it myself to see if i like it very upright. at the minute i dont putt with my eyes over the ball. i dont think this affects my long putting much but i think it does from 10ft and in.

go for it LB, intrested to hear how this goes for you! it is crazy how little people actually get fitted for what is "the scoring club" !!

surprises me that because he matches every price I go in with. You need to go in with a price you want to pay and do not budge. I always say to him I don't really need the item anyway so it can gather dust for all I care. Surprising how often I end up with the deal I want. Although they don't advertise it they do a price match promise if you can show them the website where it's cheaper.

Maybe, but if you say - give me your best price for 4 clubs, he doesn't, you then bluff AG (whose trackman was broke), went to direct golf went on the trackman, price matched £650 with the AG price. Job's a good un'.

I'm booked in this Monday at 12.30, so far. Me, possibly scouser (another time), maybe you.

I think if we can get 4-5, we may be able to get a group discount, and he will get notoriety on the forum. Even if we are not all done on the same day.

Anyone else, if we can get it for £40 each?
