£50 putter fitting - am I mad?

Just let me know when you have sorted it LB, could make it anytime Friday if that helps, but no later than 09:30 on Monday.

LB, it's worth it mate if you're serious about your golf (and you obviously are!!)
Booked myself in ther after my marvellous putting display at Caldy (you remember), and got some great feedback and tips.
He won't try to sell you a putter there and then but will give you the spec of putter which suits you.
Got a new one off the info he gave and first couple of rounds with it seems to have improved me.
(I've got a lot of improving to do though :()

I'm also considering this but a little confused. If they find your technique is a little out, then how can they then fit you for a putter on the same day? Surely they are fitting a club to suit a flawed technique, or do they fix the faults and then fit you?

I had the same thought today. Should you not "groove" your potentially changed swing, before being fitted?

Decisions, decisions.

Spot on.

7 months into playing golf and I now have a bag which excites me, so no need to buy clubs just for fun any more.

It's now a case of lessons followed by practice, repeat ad infinitum until I reach my plateau.

At that point, I can then look at the mental side of the game, course management and then maybe some new gear which would improve me.

Would they not fit to the swing u get taught... they will say that's it... Perfect swing... Here is your club

If that makes sense

If someone can teach me a 'perfect' putting swing within an hour, one which I'll be able to replicate perfectly the next day and the next, then I want some of that action!!!

I meant will they not show you the swing and let but replicate it a couple of times and then fit to that you can then go away and practice

Id be all over this if i wasnt visiting the in-laws in Dublin this w/e. That said my driving is far worse so that might get some attention first . Im thinking Orka or Ping Anser !

Course management first! :swing:

Did you go???

No fella.

We were due to play the course that the pro/studio is based at, but as they had had temps on for two days, we have "banked it" instead. We played at Pleasington near Blackburn instead.

LFC also shocked me by beating Villa the day before, so I was committed to drinking 12 pints then. Not the best preperation for a putter fitting the day after.

I just postponed it for now, if I do go ahead, I'll post details on here.
