£20 Amazon Gift Card, is it a con?

I'd like some advice on this ''special offer'' please.
I've been shopping on Amazon recently and I keep seeing this special offer......£20 Amazon Gift Card.
From what I can see it's a £20 reward for signing up to their Amazon credit card, is that right?
So can I sign up for their credit card, get the £20 credit but never use their card?
I only ask because I was told once ''if something looks too good to be true, it normally is''

Has anyone signed up for this or is it a con?
