the only saving grace in this sad episode is the fact that its happened at this time of year when I would expect that medals are few and far between and this will give the greenkeepers chance to repair the damage..

I think the minimum that they would expect you to Marshall for is 2 days. Certainly at Loch Lomond. And they expected you to go in the either on the Saturday or Sunday prior to the event for a health and safety talk and to discuss your role at the event. you would normally pick up your clothing...

The drainage has improved immensely. We've had heavy rain recently over a number of days, but the fairways and greens have remained in great condition..

The Carrick has had poor reviews since it opened due to the saturated fairways whenever its rains for more than 10 minutes, but has vastly improved since new drainage was put in place recently. As for the greens, they are usually in very good condition, no matter what the weather is like.
