Playing in a charity day at Hankley common tomorrow, one of the lads from the office has cried off, leaving us with 3 players. If anybody can make it there tomorrow, (shotgun start 9am), we'd be very grateful. Bacon rolls golf and meal after all paid for.

Sunshine golf are good, are you speaking to Gemma? I'd drop estapona from that list. Best budget course on the coast is La Canada, far better than Estapona for similar money. The others are good, although I'm not keen on La Cala, but that's down to personal experience rather than the courses...

I'm in same boat, would rather hit 5wood or 4hybrid rather than 5/6 iron.

I wasn't there, but a mate purchased white ankle socks from pro shop, put them on only to be told by the starter he couldn't wear them on the course. Short discussion, they tee'd off anyway with the starter following them up the first telling them he'd be calling the police and they were now...

Not played Blackmoor, so can't compare.

I played St Georges Hill last Thursday (I think it had been dry for a few days before) it was in cracking condition. Just shows how much a a couple of days rain can change a heathland course.

One of my problems when I was playing off high 20's was hitting the ball high enough for it to stop on greens. I found playing softer balls, pro v1, penta TP5 etc, helped with this. Distance balls didn't help me.
