I love winter golf. Always feel like a winner when I get a game in and beat the weather. Doesn’t really matter if I win the game or just hack it round just nice to be outdoors.
Only missed one weekend so far since Christmas as the course was shut.
I think it’s the skinflint in me to value for...
Not family but I started golfing with 2 good friends. Weekly game that we planned every Saturday morning. I got hooked but they didn’t so pretty soon they were cancelling games left right and centre. Still good mates but not golfing buddies.
I joined a roll up at the club and haven’t looked...
This would be my suggestion also.
I practice a fair bit and had lessons but the addition of a an on course lesson was a big step forward. Cue HC drop of 3 over the next 3 months
I know lots pf people who have great short games with 'off the shelf' wedges & putters
I personally have my wedges fitted as my clubs are 2 & 1/2 inches longer than stock length and this changes the lie angle. Just a height thing in my case.
Depending if you need the rest of your set to have...
You know my playing partners then? :)
This is spot on - I think there will be loads of confusion when it hits. I am fairly well clued up but there are still several bits that I want to understand better & see how it pans out, most of the rest of the guys I play with just turn up and play (I...
For team games / social games I have always marked this way but with the slash between i.e. 5/2 in the column for the player. If in a team game the column at the end is then used to record the team score on that hole (i.e. 2 to score from 4 so total these and pop it in as the team overall...
There are a lot of things that I don’t like about this idea but the one thing that I do wonder is will the higher profile help rebuild interest in the game itself. Think Premier League and just how big that is worldwide.
Not sure that this is the right vehicle or not for golf but something...
Even with these course losses in the region I hear Louth is really struggling. At the same time here at Grimsby there is a proposal to sell a piece of land for development and use the income to build 2 new holes and secure the long term future of the club.
You could be 100% right on the holes mentioned being the better golf holes. Truth is it was my first day in St Andrews for the first time and that feeling when we headed down to the Castle clubhouse was something special. Plus I played that hole exactly how I wanted so it really stuck in my...
There's a few but so far my stand out has to be the 9th at the Castle Course St Andrews.
Gorgeous hole that drops away all the way down to the green, backdrop of St Andrews & the coastline with all the famous courses - first day our golf tour last year and I think I was a bit giddy at the...
Not much planned in yet as having to drop out of the normal tour with friends each year due to a family wedding
This year they will be in the Aberdeen area so gutted to miss that.
I have got a trip to Celtic Manor with 24 of the guys from our club booked. Playing all 3 courses which will be...
Not played the Bridgestone ball you mention.
I was also a Pro V1 (the x version) player until 2 years back, mainly as I was getting them free which is always good!. I tried the TM TP5x and felt this was an improvement (dispersion, distance and feel) for me. So moved to these as an alternative...
