easy for me, get lessons early and dont watch too many youtube vids or buy books as it just messed me up.
One more tip would be buy some half decent clubs and learn to use em, do not try to buy extra yards or accuracy as that comes through practice and playing :)
I worked for nestle as a sales rep when they re-released the texan bar, wasnt the same as the original for me but still ate loads of free stock :)
Walnut whip is now just a vanilla whip cos they removed the walnut!!! how dare they
I watched a few reviews of recent models and wow!!!! they have cranked lofts up even more than when I got the rocketbladez I think. A 5 iron is a 4iron albeit with some fancy tech maintaining launch.
Its definitely a minefield!
Mine are the Tour Preferred CB forged (if it makes any difference)
Not GI but nowhere near blade either. Anyway, a few lessons I might be ok with them, if the pro recommends GI then I will go with that and try some out.
Function over form is definitely my response Gordon. I will have my 1st lesson next week, speak to the pro and take it from there. Its at Custom Lab golf in Hitchin so those guys will definitely know the best option.
oh yeah, I would also be happy to just stick with the CB's and work through it but feel GI irons might be more beneficial short to medium term.
Over to you guys and gals
I am currently using Taylormade tour preferred CB's. When hit well they go great but as I am effectively starting again with lessons/swing changes I was looking at getting some GI irons to restore some confidence and hopefully consistency. I used Ping G10's a few years back and they were so easy...
hahaha Hobbit, love it, and there was me thinking you were calmness personified.
I have hurled a few clubs and walked in once but that was due to atrocious weather (the whole fourball agreed to call it a day), fortunately never fully lost it.... yet
already consulted my old Pro for a group of lessons. Once a modicum of consistency and confidence returns then I will be just right. Its heartening to know I am not alone and after a couple of days reflection, its only a game so why worry :)
Its why i walked away 3 years ago so not due to the break. Started before the Irish Craic, almost like panic over the ball... I know its just a hobby and means nothing so god knows why
Even an easy putt, ease back then either cant make the stroke or its 90 mile an hour and an air shot...
Hi all, been a while since I played due to what can only be described as a mental block. Was never much good got down to 18 then had a case of swing yips.
Gave up for 3 years, went beack up the range the last week, one out of 3 visits was decent. Played yesterday, 1st hole bogey 5, not bad...
Bogey golf is the answer. You get a shot so dont be thinking about hitting in 2 for birdies. A 5 is a net par so use your shot. If you par the longer holes with a good chip and putt its a bonus. I was off 21 (probs be 28 now). When i scored well it was when i played simple. I had birdied every...
