Your year in stats

Frustrating season for me really. I started and ended on 8.7 having got down to my lowest ever (7.9) pretty early on. I've played steady without ever really shooting the lights out of it and in the last third of the year, you may as well have written 83 on my card before i'd even hit a ball.

I've just started a set of lessons to hopefully get my swing a bit more consistent and will be practising 40-80 yards in A LOT before the star of next season as I need to start making a few birdies a round to help with the score.

It's in there though as a few social rounds have seen me knock it round in a one or two over and I managed similar at Wallasey in the final of the NW OOM. Roll on 2015 !!!

you've still got a hefty chunk to come off that 8.7 yet mate. it's just a matter of when.

Aye, about half of it at least based on this weekend!!!

I don't keep stats and we're not on HDID. Handicap stayed the same, played some rubbish in the main part of the season but pulled my finger out after H4H and been playing some good decent stuff since then.

Similar to Junior, under 100 yards I'm rank rotten, really need to improve that to give me any chance of lowering my handicap and scoring consistently....

I don't keep stats either, it isn't something Ive ever thought of doing.
I kinda know what my strengths & weaknesses are. Poor decisions cost me quite often. Think I need to be more aggressive with the putter too.

Started on 8.7 (I think)
Finished on 7.3

Hope yr right mate. Just need to string a few medal rounds together. Its just a shame it works out that i can only play circa 10/12 qualifiers.

Club or personal constraints?

Bit of both Huds. In terms of weekend qualifiers there are 3 in April, 2 in May, 2 in June, 4 in July (2 of which are Clubchamps over 1 weekend) 4 in August (2 of which are in one day),1 in August (unless you qualify for a final, in which case it would be 2) and ,1in Sept.

I cant play in the midweek comps, and the weekend comps tend to alternate between a Saturday and a Sunday. So of the 14, i'll probably play 10/12 and hopefully get on a few singles opens. Its the only thing i dont really like about the club, but the positives far out-weigh the negatives. I accept that due to the profile of the membership, that if there was a comp most Saturdays, people would get annoyed and leave. I accept its a fine balance and you cant please everyone.

Finally totted up stats (sadly, I like this sort of thing) for the year after not playing and rarely thinking about golf for a couple of weeks (nice to get a break and spend the holiday with family doing other things - weather helped :D). Pretty steady (read, 'boring') numbers (much like my game) without ever setting the world on fire and plenty of stuff to work at this year - is there actually a worse bunker player than me in the British Isles?
