With his wife acting as an emergency caddy Russell Knox wins his first PGA event.
How would that work out for you?

I could hear mine saying 'I don't know why you played that shot on the 3rd'..........on the 12th tee:o

Mine caddies for me several times a year, and has for 20+yrs... its hard work. She still struggles with where to stand and when to shut up...

The only time mine will come to the club is for Sunday dinner, as it should be, I'd even make her wash up if I could get it cheaper :smirk:

Wasn't it just for the practice round with Knox?

Reed did it for a while.

Mine found it boring and is not keen. Did almost roll a buggy once though!

If I could pick anyone to caddy for me it would be HID. He knows my game and temperament better than anyone. First time he caddied we played a few practice holes (matchplay) and had a right set to on the 3rd hole. We established some groundrules there and then - ie. pretty much no negatives or "why did you do that?" tone needed from my caddy! I remember so clearly though my tee shot on the 8th which was always a doubt for me - driver or lay up to the ditch. He always told me to take driver and hit it like I did every other hole on the course. This day the wind was just in a bit, I'd just won the 7th hole and walked to the tee unsure what to do. Without a word he handed me my driver...nothing was said but his gesture was so positive and without doubt that I stood up and nailed it.

He has caddied a few times since and main mistake is handing me the headcover whilst he holds the driver!

My wife has caddied for me many times - brilliant every time

Knows my game and knows the game very well being an ex county player

I can't even contemplate thinking about the possible look I'd get if the merest thought of Mrs Imurg63 caddying for me even considered entering my head......

There are things I do with the Mrs,& things I don't do.
Golf definitely falls into the things I don't do category.

HID has caddied with me half a dozen times, when I say caddied she has driven the cart and mocked me. Most memorable time was playing iberostar Cancun.
Gorgeous course, full of crocs, big buggers. We saw one about 100 yd away about 16-18 ft long and it just looked a killing machine.
Anyway Missis T was driving the buggy and I nailed a drive down the 17th. We drove about 50yd and she stops the buggy and says look at that, a croc about 8ft long was chilling out about 6ft from her side of the buggy. My tyrets kicked in bigstyle. it was earlier in that round that I hit my one and only drive over 300yd.
I was buzzing, she said to me, " why don't you hit it like that every time".
She will be caddying for me again in two weeks 😳

Trouble is now he's gone and won it she will be telling him it is down to her.

Mrs T would probably remark about some animal / bird she has just spotted just as i was lining up a 6 footer for par!

I did pass one pair where the girlfriend / wife of the younger chap was keeping score for them!

I'd have to bludgeon mine to death after a couple of holes and I have 2 problems that will cause

1 - which club does etiquette say is OK to use?

2 - what do you use to remove blood off the choice in 1?
