Your Teams Home Footie Top Cost

I did a quick google and the estimate from 3 yrs ago was £4.79. Bearing in mind that they will all be produced in the far east, everything is in US dollars and the exchange rate is rubbish I suspect it is now around the £6 mark. That is to actually produce and land

the product. Mark up after that relate to the brand, retailer, club, VAT man

There are huge margins involved here, obvious statement.

😳☹️

Cool sponsor in crime writer Val McDermid as well.
Hearts have a cooler one 'Save the Children' paid by an anonymous doner.

I've always wondered about clubs having a charity on their shirts. I'm not having a pop at Hearts for doing it, I thought the same when Barca had their first ever "sponsor" and had Unicef on the shirts. Yes it raises the profile of whatever the charity is, but would it have been better for Barca to sell that shirt sponsorship for £XXX million and donated that money to the charity instead?

Related to the topic, does anyone know how much profit is on a shirt. Reason I say. Last season City were sponsored by Nike. Daughter knew someone who worked for Nike in one of the shops. They got 40% off everything. I got a players shirt for less money than a £65 club shop shirt ( which I get 10 % off that price being a season ticket holder).
They still make a profit. The mark up must be astronomical.
That aside, how much for a Galvin green or other golf top. My football shirts like me golf gear tops, I usually get in the sales. I prefer the " retro" look. 😁

I've bought the City tops in Nike outlet stores for a tenner. I've got quite a few now. How a laughed in the City Store at the Etihad! Miffed City are now with Puma:mad:

It helps to spread the name of the charity as well, gives it added credibilty. You will see people all over the world in Barcelona shirts, kids in the middle of nowhere in Africa playing football in an old one, and it spreads the UNICEF name, in this case. It not only helps them to raise money but improves recognition

Not bought a Tigers shirt since rugby tops moved from traditional shirts with a collar to the new, tech loaded skin tight ones. If I put one of those on it would look like somebody had laminated an egg.

Still wear my old shirts going back to ones I bought in my university days and so some of those are getting on for 30 years old.

No idea of the detail but the Hearts deal was/is pretty unique in that after surviving administration and now heading to full fan ownership, the club wanted to move away from the shirt sponsors they used to use but felt no longer fitted with the way the club wanted to go (i.e betting, payday loans, alcohol etc)

So non-club benefactors stepped up & offered this idea with the money they'd give to be split between Hearts & Save the Children & the club to wear the logo. So Hearts didn’t need to look elsewhere for much needed sponsor revenue, Save the children got a wedge of cash too & their name on the shirts (it’s in its 4th year now)

Do you still wear a shell suit? :p

The super duper brand new NIKE !!!! yes you heard me NIKE one for Macclesfield Town is £45. The best bit about it is that it has no sponsors on it, as they have none. Looks proper 1970's smart. On the no sponsor thing, you'd have thought some company would be all over it. They are going to be mentioned on all every Saturday results round up of the coming season for being bottom of the league and thrashed every week. It's not looking good.

Blades home and away shirts both £55.

Season ticket holders are given a 20% off voucher that can be used once in the shop.

Dronny. Whats your hopes for this season. Saw utd play Inter pre season last year. They dont mind putting it about. Can see um upsetting one or two this year. Especially if Billy can get 12-15 goals.

Hi Tash

i think the fans and club will be under no illusion as to how difficult it will be in the Prem, and would take a 4th from bottom finish now!

Having said that, Wilder has signed some good players this summer - buying top end Championship players who he believes can make the step up, but will also be strong signings the following season should the club unfortunately be relegated. Has added some needed pace up front - hopefully we can bring in McBurnie from Swansea this week.

I think it will be tough, but do expect us to surprise a few, and look to continue to play attractive football (per last 3 seasons under Wilder).

Fingers crossed!

Absolutely no idea, as I would never wear a replica shirt. I do have a scarf but not sure I would get my rattle in the ground these days.:(

Barca paid Unicef €1.5M per year yo carry the sponsor on the shirt. So not only did they do the "awareness" piece, they also donated to the charity. The partnership is still going and was extended further a few years ago, even though the shirt logo has since gone.

There's a danger I might buy both the home and away kit this season. Away kit look very nice.
Your away kit is very nice, the home kit on the other hand is horrible. Would advise buying the away.

Saw this today: https://www.planetfootball.com/quic...mier-league-home-shirt-for-the-2019-20-season I think they have some of them very, very wrong. West Ham & Liverpool should be at the other end, City's should be a lot lower as well. Chelsea and Brighton should be higher.

I reckon...
Nicest: Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, Brighton.
Decent: Leicester, Villa, Burnley, United, Bournemouth, Sheff, Wolves, Norwich.
Not great: Newcastle, Everton, Palace, Liverpool.
Trash: West Ham, City, Watford, Southampton.

I'm neutral on the home kit until I see it live and handle it tomorrow. Away kit does look tidier though.

Daily Fail do the same as Planet Footy, rating kits.
