Bill is the man who designed the Pro V1 ball so knows pretty much everything there is to know about the one piece of golf equipment we use on every single shot...

What about air shots?

How many variants did you try in R&D before settling on the perfect number of dimples? and what were the lowest and highest number you tried? is there a holy grail of number of dimples? we see other manufacturers using 333, 322, 326 etc, and the Pro V1 has 352 (if Google is correct)

Rooter - The Internet (or Scott Roots, Royal Berkshire) whichever you fancy. Scooter seems to work these day too mike....

During testing how durable did you find the balls to be?

It is a well known fact that tour pro's change their ball almost every hole, however, us amateurs have to buy our own so assuming I never lose a ball how many holes/rounds can I expect to get from a brand new Pro V1 before I put another one into play?

I play Bridgestone B330 series as the ProV 1 got too expensive.

So what's the difference between B330 and ProV to warrant the higher price and is/was the Bridgestone lawsuit against you the reason for the expense and are you still paying Bridgestone?

Thinking back to the war the V2 went further than the V1.

V2 also went up vertically on launch - think I've played one already!

As us amateurs are obsessed with distance which one is the ball that goes further across the range and what considerations such as swing speed, handicap should be taken into consideration to get the max out of each. As I am sure there is a reason for having a range and not one fits all?

Following on from earlier in reality can us amateurs actually tell the difference have we got the feel? OR honestly are they just marketing well, a lot of other branded balls are being used now by the Pro's! is it like the football at the European championship that when given to amateurs they could not bend it, it was perceived to be light?

Are there any plans to re-introduce the Pro V1 practice balls? For me getting a near perfect Pro V1 for a fraction of the cost was a good compromise.

I understand that there is only about 5 yards difference in distance between all the balls in your range. So how easy is it to convince the average golfer who may well not actually feel any difference when they hit different golf balls, that the Pro V1 is good value for money at the premium price point it occupies.

I am a relatively high handicapper and I have never bought or used a Pro V1 (apart from ones I have found) as I can not justify paying that price for them. To me there are so many better value alternatives out there that, in my mind, do the same thing, i.e. slice when I hit a slice or go down the middle when I stripe one. So how would you convince me to purchase ProV1s bearing in mind I could buy a very good wedge for the same price? Or should I be using another ball in your range as ProV1s are probably not for me?

As I understand it you do not let the golf magazines test your range of balls when they do independent comparative tests across different golf ball manufacturers. One conclusion that could be drawn from this is that you are scared of independent testing against your competitors. So what is the real reason for this? (but please ignore this if they do let their balls be tested now)

You often see Titleist adverts around the majors stating that the Pro V1 and Pro V1x are the most played balls at those tournaments. Besides the Titleist staffers are any of the players paid to play a Titleist or do they simply choose to play them?
