Your Par5 lay up shot

If there is no danger around the green, I will look to run it up as close as possible and hope that my touch around the green will leave it dead.

If there is danger, it will be whatever is required to leave me 60-90yds. Done a lot of work in this range with my wedges last year and pretty confident here.

lets not talk about 3-putts though....that's going to be taken care of during 2016 lessons
 
Our par 5s (510, 559, 551, 500yds) are out of reach for me in two unless strong following wind or hard ground. If I am playing my 2nd from the fairway off a typical length tee shot I generally just give it as big a clout as I can. From 150yds in I don't have a favourite approach shot or distance. I just aim to get my 2nd as close as possible and then deal with my 3rd shot as I find it.

BTW - I see this question as being different to one that asks 'how do you play Par5s?'
