Your Golfing superstitions

I only have one, I open the garage door extract my golf clubs , put them in the boot of my car and go play some golf . It's simple but highly effective. :thup:

I dont believe anyone can have a good game like that. Surely you have to place the bag with the clubheads on the left?

I always put my socks on before my shoes but apart from that, nothing really.

Wow we both have the same one! I ALWAYS do that before a round!

Imo any superstitious rituals that have to be followed for good performance are just completely irrational and borderline ridiculous.

You can follow any number of things you have to do in order to maximise your potential to play good golf and still play crap and have a nightmare, but of course then people start thinking oh I didn't run through my pre game ritual of x,y,z so that's why they played badly err no you were just crap on the day.

i can play bad golf with and without superstitious hoodoo so see no point having any lucky rituals or items of clothing.

I always get to the club a little earlier than required, go to the nets, and will not step on to the 1st tee until I have hit 3 absolutely perfect 3 irons straight out of the sweetspot.

I have forgotten what the 1st tee looks like

No golf ones , used to have on playing footy as i never warmed up wearing my jersey ; wore a tracksuit top or t shirt ,then put it on just before kick off..

Only one for me. I only carry 2 full size tees and one short tee in my right hand side pocket. If I lose or break one I'll replace it but no more than that.

I have to just have all my clubs back where they came from and I don't practice a swing while teeing up in case I use up a good shot, and with my golf I don't have that many good shots to waste!

I like to turn up 10 mins before my tee time, hit no balls or putts before the round, clubs out of locker and straight on the tee.

Ha ha brilliant. I second this.

Only routine of any sort my golfing group has is, in the winter time, we always get the hip flask of Rusty Nail out on the 7th and 13th tees.

No headwear allowed in the clubhouse bar or lounge - brings bad luck.

Do things out of habit - tees, pencil and change in right arse pocket, ball marker/ball and pitch mark repairer in right front pocket - because it seems logical to me (I have a glove on my left hand so using my right pocket seems sensible) not because I'm worried that not doing so will cause my round to go off track

But if I don't check under every chair in the clubhouse before sitting down for breakfast the monsters will get me before my tea has brewed!

Not so much a superstition but when teeing off I like to look at the clean unmarked, unlogo'd side of the ball so when I look down I see only a clean white ball.

Basically I have no superstitions of any sort on or off the course - though will avoid walking under a ladder - and that's pretty much it. Life is too short and complicated enough as it is.

Superstitions are for the weak willed and I don't have any time for them at all ................................ however I ALWAYS put my left shoe on first.
At the start of the round you'll find mysScore card in back left pocket, DMD in back right, loose change in front left & front right has ball marker, 3 x pink castle tees & 6 x other tee pegs.

I'm having a really bad start to 2014 .................... something has to change, so, I'm going to change something!
I'm going to spend the rest of this month putting my RIGHT shoe on first to see if that changes my luck.
Now I know you all think that that's ridiculous, and it is!
This is purely an experiment in order to finally disprove any thoughts that superstitions actually have any substance whatsoever!
