Your first round of par or better

30 Sept 2009 at Aldwickbury Park in the medal. Level par playing off 11. Round had 5 birdies and 5 bogies.
3 putted the last as well.

Oh yeh there's no way he's truly a 10 handicapper, when we play in friendly games the most I'd let him play off is 6. Thing is he play in every competition he can and for whatever reason doesn't score anywhere near as well so what's he supposed to do?

Are your friendlies off the same tees as the comps? Were the under par rounds in the friendlies? Is he a bomb and wedge style player?

Yeh we play all our friendly games off the back tees, one round was at our course and the other was at a course nearby not off the back tees. I wouldn't really call him a bomb and wedge player, just a pretty accomplished all round player.

Thing is it's not like these rounds were really a fluke, he's been threatening it a few times and I've no doubt he'll go on to do it again.

I had one round where I felt I could've, playing off 10. Was a matchplay tie and I was -2 through 12. Unfortunately the tie ended there as I beat him 7 and 6. Despite my begging he wasn't keen on playing out the round to see where I would end up. Felt like I could've got to -4 that day if the stars continued to align for me.

This is a long long way away for me, but I am only 28 and been playing for a year and a bit.

I will get there, and I will tell you all about it when I do!

Shot a 67 at Wimbledon Common. Had shot level par a few weeks before including a 3 putt on the 9th having driven the green. Played really well and tamed the two holes (2 and 14) that always made my life hard and the rest fell into place. It took a couple more years to get anywhere that again

Level in a comp a few years back off 11 (I think) and a few bounce games at my current place off 7/6/5

Under par only ever twice, both this year. In a comp off 7 (not at my course) and bounce game at mine off 5. Both were -3.

Shot level par twice of yellow tee's....Once at Withington GC and once at Lymm GC with some forummers. Closest i've been in recent times was a one over gross off the comp tee's at SAOL this Summer. The one common denominator with those three rounds was a smoking hot putter.

Does a 9 hole par 29 course count? 7 pars 1 bogie, 1 birdie:thup: right chuffed I was.
Absolutely nowhere near on a proper course yet. Best is 11 over 77 on a par 66

I didn't have a h/cap when I first broke par as I'd only been playing 11 months and hadn't played a single comp, didn't really even know about h/caps at the time as I used to just play with a group of friends (one of whom I witnessed shooting 8 under par on the front 9 and then he HAD TO GO HOME!!!!!!)

My round consisted of 8 birdies, 7 bogies and 3 pars.

Think I was off 3-4 in 1998 in a practise round before a major county event on a course I never played before, shot 69. I've had a 68 in a mid am event and was leading by 5 after morning round only to take an 8 on 17th par 4 hole in afternoon to miss out by 3. Then I was 6 under after 11 on my own course in a winter qualifier, I wasn't really thinking of anything that day TBH until I put the tee into the ground on the 12th n thought it be nice to keep this ball after this round I'm having.......... Draw your own conclusions what happened on the remaining holes.

and they say psychology doesn't play apart in this game....
