Yes Putters

Putters are such a personal thing that a recomendation from anyone else is pretty pointless.

I was always a Scotty fan and didn't think I would change but you know the scenario - in the pro shop for a chat and you just have to pick up a new club for a little swing. I picked up a Yes! Tracy II and liked it immediately although it took until the Scotty started misbehaving before it made the bag. I've had it chopped down to 32" now and wouldn't be looking to change any time soon......just need to avoid hanging around in the pro shop!! :p

I have a tracey and love it. Gets such a good roll off the face. Particularly on good greens. Very true roll. Holed lots of longer putts with this club. But i would say you need to try a few first.

I spent a good couple of hours in AG testing a few putters, but the YES putter was the most consistent.

i just got a Yes Hannah, its a centre shafted mallett of sorts. the plan was to get a Tracy but i found the centre shafted putter much easier to align.
works a treat!

I've occasionally gone away to other putters but do find I keep comming back to my Yes Tracy, though would consider a Tracy II, a Callie, Callie Forged, Gina, Dianna, Sophia. The Head weight issue can be just that. Would love a proper fitting session for one, but seeing as Fitting centres are either well north of me, or equally well south, it becomes a long trip to do it.

I have a Yes Natalie its was rubbish in my hands.Sometimes it shot off the face other times is was dead.

With the stuck out face my rubbish putting stroke didnt agree with it,it made a funny noise too

Newport 2.5 for me,wont be changing it,its been cut down and bent to suit my poor stroke

I think the TM agsi faces give a better roll than yes putters.

Couldn't agree more. My long range putting with this insert is surprising me....so reliable.

Interestingly, and no disrespect to Homer, the only guys at mine who are any good with yes putters are v.v.good putters and low h'cap. They could putt with a shovel. The mid h'cap players don't use them, and (as I've tried 8/9/10?) I'm not surprised. They seem to stick almost exclusively with TM/Odyssey/Ping.

I witnessed an "extraordinary" putting display the other day from an 18 h'cap.....with a Ping Redwood.....never seen long-range control like it.

I'm normally a good putter, but because of a bit of a layoff, I did notice today that you really do need to hit out of the sweetspot with the Yes Putters, so if anyone has had problems with consistency with a Yes putter, it could well be that they are not getting the ball out of the centre of the face on a Yes putter, even though the idea of C groove is that its supposed to allow for putts not quite out of the centre. I notices this especially with the softer (really soft) balls I was trying out today like the Srixon Z-Star.

So yes its certainly a club for someone capable of putting & will really reward good putting & good putting technique.

I think this was what I was trying to say....

Like most golf equipment, new fangled stuff often favours the better player.

I have a gimmick SW.....designed for crap bunker players....works for me. I have an AGSI putter which helps avoid skidding (apparently) and promote a consistent roll...also works for me.

I guess we all need to find our level.

Have had a range of cheapish putters up to now, but got the Yes Valerie. Lovely weight and and to me it swings nicely but as someone says - it's all so personal. (The crap line & length is all down to me I suspect).
