Thinking of changing my putter from Oddysey(spelling) which is 3 years old.

Seen the reviews of The Scotty Cameron Select Newport 2 which is a tad expensive at £220 and my pro has suggested a yes putter.

Not worried about paying around £150 as it need to do 'the job', a liitle more if it improves my game!

Any thoughts on Yes putters and any recommendations would be appreciated.

I had a Yes Marilyn for a year or so and for the most part it was very good. The grooves on the face help get the ball rolling sooner so keeping it on line. They are good to look at and are very well put together.

My only problem with them was inconsistency of strike. I had trouble judging lenghty putts, either going long or staying short. Almost certainly me - but still a problem.

Some of the designs look like they've been designed by a Nerd from Holland who's spent too much time in one of the "cafes"!! But they all work.
I know some on here have the Tracy which is a Ping Anser style and a few pros also use them to great effect.
Well worth trying several shapes.

I think the TM agsi faces give a better roll than yes putters. Only my opinion but I just found the yes a bit firmer off the face. That said I do think they are a quality putter and you wouldn't go far wrong. You could look at the TM rossa range and compare them for yourself

I have a Studio select Newport 1.5. Fantasic putter, and at 175 (direct golf do them at a similar price) a bit of a good deal.

I also like the yes tracey 2, very similar, very good traditional putter.

I had the centre shafted Amy model.
I found it a well balanced, great looking putter.
My only gripe would again be inconsistent results off the face.
The putter seemed to have a miniscule sweet spot, and if hit ,the ball unexpectedly sprung off the face, sending the ball way past the hole.
I've been through a few putters in my time, but i've never known one with a feel like the Yes Amy.
Despite this I believe they are great putters, but I can only comment on the Amy.

For £99 or less you can pick up any of the putters from the Yes! range. They are great value for money!

I've used the Tracy which was excellent, but then went for a custom fitting session at the Southport centre, I came back with the Olivia model which was just as excellent and has stayed in the bag since.

The C-Groove really does reduce skidding which in essence should mean more putts are holed.

I agree with the other posts that sometimes the impact can be inconsistent, but this only occurs rarely. My gripe would be the grip, a large section of which is white in colour; which gets dirty very easily.

Overall I've been pleased with my Yes! putters and will probably stick with them in the future.

Got to admit, that I was almost tempted.......until the £80 Bettinardi BC series was in my hands.

But as has been said recently. It's as much about technique and what's going on in the head as it is the hardware.

Can't rule out the power of a shiny new stick for confidence though!

I can say now, my Scotty ss newport 1.5 is the last putter I will ever buy.

If I can't putt with that, then I need lessons, not a new putter. I have putted well with it, I can put well with it, I love the style, it is well made, it doesn't rust, it will last forever.

I may replace the grip at some distant point in time.

I use a YES Valerie and I have a new Victoria 11. Both putters look similar in most ways but the victoria is a little bigger. I just can't change to the victoria as I'm putting so well with the Val. A while back I had 12 putts in the back 9 with the valerie.

Oh, I sank a few nice one's at Goswick with the Val.

I have to say I have one and I LOVE!!!!! it, its the only bit of kit I have not changed. I have tried different scotties, the Redwoods the TM Rossa and while they were good I must admit I felt happier with the Victoria II.

It feels so good in the hand, swing weight is good, the sound and feel of the face is good.

As mentioned there is a miniscule sweet spot that I hit once in every 20 rounds - the ball really comes off the face a lot faster than when I hit the ball of my regular area. But this is negated by the fact the ball normally goes to exactly where I want.

The grip gets dirty fast and is hard to keep clean, not bad as this is my main gripe.

IMHO I am super confident when hitting all putts, but I feel its better on longer putts, mostly due to the roll and less skid.

Conflicting I know from others - but I went to AG and tried every putter in the shop, narrowed it down and tried them all on the course. It is my favorite stick in the bag.

I know some on here have the Tracy which is a Ping Anser style and a few pros also use them to great effect.
Well worth trying several shapes.

Yes the Tracy is a great putter, but its not actually the Anser amounst the range. The Tracy II & Callie are the Anser putters in the range. The most common Anser design is most certainly the Callie.

The main design feature of the Tracy is the slight S-like shape of the shaft which is there to balance the face, which gives all the benifits of a face balanced mallet with that of a blade & the better look of a blade & none of the dodgy looking mass behind the face. So is a convinient halfway house.

Another Anser style putter worth looking at & is an aswer to the Titleist circa62 range is the (Yes you've guessed it) MD NV Drew putters, The Anser would be NV Drew Gallway, though my favorite is the NV Drew Connemara. Sorry to change the subject from the Yes Putter range, but thought it worth mentioning.

btw here's a couple of links

btw Yes putters can be found cheaper than the Manufacturers website.

I have owned 2 and wouldn't use them again.
Had a Natalie which felt light and weird and a Callie which was ok but better putters around in that style imo.
C Groove thing didn't have any discernible effect for making a better roll for me. :D

I bought one 3 years ago as a result of attending a GM putter test day in 2006.

I love it and believe the C grooves make for a much better roll, putting slight top spin on the ball after the stoke.

I can honestly say the Yes putter took 2 x shots off my handicap. I love it and believe it is the right putter for me.

At the end of the day, thats what it is all about - what is right for you...............
