Xfactor utter tosh

yes the UK one has gone downhill, watching the USA one just now and its on a different level, any one of the USA finalists would walk the UK one as it stands.

Oh, so true...I can't even begin to say how much my blood boiled watching these 4 girls.

So, we create another group of instant millionaires to produce another million pounds for the people behind this totally untenable form of entertainment.

May I quote.

"We seem to be a society that celebrates all the wrong people".
"Kids are meant to believe that their stepping stone to massive money is The X Factor."
"Luck is great, but most of life is hard work. We do not celebrate people who have made success out of serious hard work."

For once, an MP I agree with.
 
Haven't watched it but assumed the girl band won it having been hyped the most over the last 24 hours. What happened to real artists like Adele and bands like Oasis, Coldplay etc that could write and sing a good tune. They didn't need a cash cow to get success. The only thing the X Factor does is boost the profit margin for ITV and swell Simon Cowells ego and wallet
 
This is what makes me laugh the most. If you dont like it why watch it? If you dont like the people that won it then dont buy there single/album. The more people watch it the longer it will have another series year after year. At the end of the day its an entertainment show for tv to get people watching and love it or hate it people seem to be watching it. If it was all about just the voice they would go and do the show for an hour on the radio once a week. Those that say about adele and others who have worked hard to do it. A lot of these people you say about showed talent at a young age so either got scholarships as music schools or had money to get them in these places. The people on the reality shows might not of developed or had that opportunity as a youngster so to compare them is a bit unfair. The x factor has caused some big acts here and abroad and all are rated on record sales so if they are any good they make it if they are rubbish they dont sell anything which I dont see anything wrong with personally. No 1 makes you buy it.
 
The X factor pisses me off because they are only looking for a singing act. It would be far more credible in my eyes if they allowed bands in with their own instruments. I don't watch it and will not be giving any of my money to Mr Cowell and his minions.

As for us, My 3 girls (17, 15, 13) like it so its about the only time that we sit in front of the telly as a family
so its an important time for us.

Its mostly harmless, so why worry or get worked up about it

I fully agree, a point I make frequently to HID. X factor is just a karaoke contest
