Possibly was ,I can’t really remember.I thought it was Poulters mate who went in for him not the caddy.
I just remember thinking there could be anything in that water.
If my mate asked me he would get a very short answer.

I have had several caddies in the past.I absolutely love it! Got to try it now
I have had several caddies in the past.
The one thing that struck me is how long I had to wait for other players .
They have to get a yardage, select a club , clean said club after the shot.
Park their trolley get the putter.
As this is going on your waiting , as this is all done for you.
But you can chat with your caddy. That’s a bonus takes your mind off things.
Did make me wonder why pro golfers are so slow.
Playing a KO Final a few years ago my opponent had a mate 'on his bag'. I think it was more that my opponents mate - not a member and a golfing newbie - fancied seeing how my opponent - an experienced matchplay golfer - managed his game in an important match.I'd think something was very odd if a bloke showed up with a caddy in an ordinary club comp.
I wouldn't do it.![]()

Indeed…he did…but he still lost ?. But never seen or used a caddy in an ordinary knock.A knockout final isn't an ordinary comp though is it. Most golfers are lucky to make one in their life, and will be tempted to make an occasion of it.
