Not the worst course but the worst value for money.

I'll start the ball rolling by nominating the West course at Wentworth. I was lucky enough to play it on a freebie but if I had forked out the £370 green fee I would not have been amused.

What is the worst value you have played?

I agree 100%. The West Course at Wentworth is the worst value for money in UK golf. An outrageous price for a course that isn't half as good as many think.

20 quid a hole is crazy.... If it were a chance at Augusta but, wentworth, no.

Rather than the prestige of showing £££s for golf thing is to find the gems that charge buttons. That can be comparative either very cheap or a sundowner round at a Royal.....

From recent memory, Hanbury Manor seems to be the most overrated and overpriced (on and off the course) that I've played. The Grove is a similar proposition, but maybe they're a both a bit cheaper now? Regardless, I won't be returning any time soon.lf.

Agree with you re Hanbury, it's pretty average in design and condition, right up there for being pompous tho'

Royal Liverpool Golf Club for me. Paid £80, which isn't a great sum...but wasn't overly impressed with it whatsoever

I played the West Course a little bit before the changes. It cost £2.50 per shot (84) and, ok, it was lousy value for money looked at in the cold light of day, but, I LOVED playing the course that I'd seen all the best pro's from Seve to Tiger play! And I did the last 3 holes par-bogey - par and yes I'd play it again like a shot, but only if I didn't have to pay todays price!
