Worst buy ever

Has to be the £600 I splashed out on a set of custom fit Mizuno MP60's that I sold 3 months later on ebay for £330!

My only venture away fom Ping in 16 years and never again.

Nike SFT balls.... only bought them as they were £17 for two dozen. I now know why they are that cheap!

Back to the Taylormade Burner TPs next for me :)

I also bought a driver from my boss. It is a Nike Ignite 460 with a X-stiff NVS shaft in it. Only played one round with it. Very very good when i nailed a good one, but it's just not forgiving enough for me. Sitting at home gathering dust!

Had a cople of bad buys, the first would be the Taylor Made R7 460,lasted 2 weeks then it was on ebay. the second was the Mizuno fli-hi :D what was i thinking.

Has to be my R9 420 driver. Loved the looks and hit it near perfect when I tried it out at AG.

Was fine for about a month and was great when I was driving well, but as soon as I was slightly out it was awful. After a while I just lost complete confidence with my driving so my driving got even worse. Stuck with it for about 4 months.

Ended up getting the R9 460 with a stiff shaft and I'm back to driving it at least half decent now.

Still kept the R9 420, more in the hope that once I get better I'll be able to use it properly.

One of those ball marker thingies with which you can imprint your intitials on the ball. Mates took the rip out of me so much that I binned it after a few weeks.

TM Spider Putter, just hit everything left with it.

Got a swap with HTL for an Odessey which now sits in the cupboard as I've got a Fisher half mallet.

All in all £190 for a putter!

Should have bought a Scotty in the first place.

Every driver I have bought since my Callaway FT-5. All great on the range but none last long on the course. Most recent was a Cleveland Launcher 10.5 degree stiff. Lasted a month before the Callaway went back in the bag. Still at least I still use the free fairway wood. COuld be lining up the next one as I am loving look of the new Cobra ZL driver and they are rumoured to have sorted the sound issues.

Other than that, I have a few 3 iron hybrids sitting around which I have bought at various stages when I forget how to hit a 5 wood.

Homer,

changing the setup was pretty easy. Under normal circumstances I have a slight fade, so it was pretty easy to rotate the shaft slightly closed to compensate for it.

And viola, now I would normally hit a straight one.

The issue for me was forgiveness. When I hit a bad one it was horrendously bad. With the 460 it's only 'slightly' bad.

With the 420 I found unless you middled it consistently you'd either loose a ton of distance or be on the wrong fairway too often :(

So those days where your driving isn't quite right, you're in for a tough round.

Is anyone else thinking Derrick Trotter? :D
