It is true that many people see online gaming as a 'geek' or even antisocial activity, however gaming has moved on in many ways over the last 10 Years, I have met and had some great weekends away meeting players I have met online, 2 couples in the Guild I run met playing WOW, they are now married with kids.
I play several hours most evenings, I could of course watch TV or read a book but I find interacting with people from around the globe a more satisfying experience. Not to mention I get to kill them as well....

Dont worry buddy, this is exactly the same for me. My old GM and his met online wife from the US were round for dinner the other night. I have met most of the main faces in my guild. One thing though, I know its geeky and I am ok with that, geek is cool

On the star Trek thing.... Seven of Nice, I would not climb over her to get to you!!

Same Alex, most of the regulars in my Guild know each other in real life, I set the guild up initially with a mate from Saudi and although he has moved to South Africa we still keep in touch through WOW.

Just for the record.. I dont actually have a Star trek outfit....
Although the Uhura suggestion does get me excited....
