After a few months of struggling with my driver I am now hitting a good drive but having to aim out right to take in to considerations a big hook. Do I try and straighting that out on the range or make do with a good drive all be it right to left!? And with the odd straight one that gets me min trouble?!

You won't be happy until it's fixed so get a lesson, get your swing on camera and find out what's causing the hook, then you'll know what to work on, on the range.

Yeah, getting better but 3 in 5 I'll hit it heavy and hook it.

Thought so.
It's a common error among good players.
They fear the hook which causes a hook.
What often happens is the player sees the OOB left or a lake and the hook is dreaded. They stop turning in the downswing to stop it going left but sadly the hands flip passed and ahead of the body...left all day.
Next time you're at the range, try and ensure you keep turning though the impact area and finish well on the left side. This should stop the clubface shutting down through impact and should improve the contact too

And failing that Bob is available for personal lessons at a very good fee! Actually he would no doubt do you a good price because he's a prince amongst men. I'd go for a lesson if his tip doesn't work as it has to make playing a lot easier if your not making adjustments all the time
