Ping G425 5 wood with 3 wood shaft.

Does it make that much of a difference? I didn't mention it in my list but my 5 wood has a 3 wood shaft as well (and the 7W has the 5W shaft) - the only reason for this was the 7W shaft broke and the only equivalent shaft I could find online was a 3W one. Having googled the specs there was only about a quarter of an inch difference in length once you take the Arcos things off the end so I just swapped them over.

If I chose my newest ones they are not the ones I use on a regular basis

The irons in the bag for regular use are a set of TaylorMade TPs from 2008 (just with upgraded shafts to suit my swing, TT Dynamic Gold SL)

No I don’t think it does.
It might with an aftermarket shaft but with the standard one no.
I had a 3 and 5 wood but they went the same distance more or less.
The 5 wood was much more accurate so it made sense.
But I only have 13 clubs so looking at what I can fit in at the top.

Thinking of another driver.
Carried two drivers while I tried a PXG
New Ping G430 out soon so might try a 9* and put mine at 12* .

I'm not sure what it is about Ping (other than just solid quality across the board) but I know lots of golfers who have bags like this - My dad being one! G425 from his driver, about 5 different woods, irons - the lot!

I love Ping drivers and it would take a lot for me to move away from them. Have used their woods and hybrids which were all good too. But I've just never liked their irons at all. And wedges, I wouldn't even typically consider to be honest.

They don't do different lofts though do they? I have wedges at 46, 50 & 56 at the moment and would want to keep that set-up probably, if not change the 56 for a 54. But they only do them in 52-56-60. Useless.

My current bag - with dates of purchase.
Possibly looking to have a hybrid fitting over the next few months as I rarely hit the 3W.
The GAPR 3 Mid is so useful when I'm under trees to punch VERY low shots out - and for low running tee shots in the hard summer ground - but again it's not that useful in the winter so maybe that comes out with the 3W and I put an extra couple of hybrids in the bag.
