I selected my 21st century set earlier as that is what my HI is based on.
But as I play some social golf with vintage classic clubs, I would like to give an example.

Purchased last year, Confidence woods 1,3,4 and Dunlop Maxfli Australian blade irons 3-SW. Paid £10.50 for the lot. Someone had bid the £10 starting price, but went no higher.
Collected in person from less than 10 miles away.
Photo shows a Maxfli original blade 2-iorn, but I think I would replace that with a Wilson Fluid Feel 1-iron bought for £2.80. (inc postage as part of a joint venture with guess who?)
A Ben Sayers Opel Line 3 putter bought for £2 would complete the set.
None needed new grips.

That is £15.30 for the whole 14 clubs. My feelings range from embarrassment to deep satisfaction at acquiring such great clubs at so little cost.
The embarrassment is confessing what a terrible cheapskate I am. The satisfaction is making pars and birdies with them.
The woods have metal face inserts. They date from the late 1970s as do the irons.

Quite happy with my bag, old but reliable, and I'm not good enough and don't play often enough to justify forking out loads on anything newer that won't really make a difference anyway

Thinking of adding a 24-26 degree hybrid. The only other potential change for next season is perhaps the irons.

I wonder if this thread partly confirms most people read the forum on their phones these days. Many members used to have witb and h'cap info in their signatures, but these only display on larger devices. I did have a quick look, and a number of posts didn't match the signatures ???

Usually pick 9 clubs from the above list of 15 for any given round with carry bag or up to 12 clubs if I’m using cart bag. I don’t think I’ve taken the max 14 clubs out for years
(does any double digit handicapper really need 14 clubs in a round?)
Would love to drop the 'rock club' but it’s a mainstay living on an island of volcanic rock that means any ball lying outside 1st cut could have a rock under the top soil
No plans for anything new until something breaks

Lush as anything.

Feel silky smooth and the Perform as good as any wedge I’ve used.

Mind you. Personally I’ve never seen much ‘performance’ differences in any wedge I’ve used. Vokey, Cleveland et all

They all do the same job imo. They just look and feel Different. Add to that that a new wedge will always (IMO) perform better than an older one purely because of the grooves being sharper.

Give them a whirl if you can.

My signature is always up-to-date but yea you do see some who haven't touched theirs in 3 years. And on your phone it's funny, in normal portrait mode you can't see the signatures, but all you have to do is rotate your phone so you're looking at it landscape, and all the signatures reappear. (On my phone anyway.)
